as in "clicked immediately --to--> hated it at first"
Your top 7 albums arranged by how long it took for you to get into them
> his top albums are all Sup Forumscore
really fucking sad the state of people I discuss music with. Please branch out
marquee moon
rain dogs
the woods
pinkerton
surfer rosa
daydream nation
ok computer
Not him but some of the albums on his chart (and the ones you most likely consider mu-core) are some of the most influential records of the last few decades, they do not belong to some anime image board
...
literally only 3 of the albums i posted are Sup Forumscore
...
...
Weird, Loveless and Flower Boy are some of my quickest to click record
Mind you, I liked all of these at first. Never disliked any of them.
Some just took a long time to grow into my favorites.
Discovery I've been listening to forever for instance, and have always enjoyed it, but it's only recently I've realized how much I enjoy it, and began considering it a favorite.
Stratosphere -> You're Living All Over Me -> Just Another Diamond Day -> Deathconsciousness -> Atomizer -> Mount Eerie -> Soundtracks for the Blind
>forcing yourself to like something just so you can fit in with hipsters
sad desu
>bluetile lounge
Mein negro!
>missing out on great music because you gave up on an album after the first listen
sad desu
why is Sup Forums so obsessed with categorizing music into "favorites", "lists", "rates" and "rankings" ?? Is it insecurity? is it people looking to validate their tastes? I don't get it.. at all. Just listen and enjoy the music
we're just having fun you big bully
Personally I just like making Topsters of my favourite albums, partly because it's a recap of my taste and it makes me easier to understand which genres and artists I should dig into next, partly because it's cool to see how my taste has evolved though the years, partly because I like cover arts and collages and it just looks cool
You have a very simple taste in music, you don't like it complex. Also, really? Remain in Light took you the longest to "get", first time I listened it I liked it.
>Is it insecurity
The opposite actually, at least for me
If you ask me sayin' what you uust said is actually insecurity in your music taste
stupid criteria, as if someone can't have all 7 at "clicked immediately"
you're right. I''m in a shitty mood this morning, I apologize
...
I remember absolutely hating Frances The Mute when I first listened to it
...
That's funny, I listened to Deloused in the Comatorium and hated that, so I never listened to any other Mars Volta, but considering Emergency & I and Sing to God are also in my top favorite albums, maybe I'll try it.
i find it weird that you like deathconsciousness and just another diamond day dude but nice
I really hated everything about Glow Pt. 2 upon first two listens. It's probably on top of my list now
i liked frances at first, but seeing as it's my favorite album now i think it was the hardest for me to get into
if you didn't like deloused you might like frances more, it definitely takes more from prog than deloused takes from post-hardcore
i see it as more of a challenge, ie how do these albums i like stack up against other albums.
These all clicked pretty instantly for me.
For me, I see it as a challenge or scavenger hunt to find the (subjectively) best music in existence. I have fun doing it (it's a good hobby that also coincides with my vinyl collecting hobby)
I'm digging these
> there unironically is people who consider mucore as the basis of everything
kill yourself, sincerely
fuck me up
...
Most of these clicked after 1 or 2 listens honestly, but Daydream Nation took a LONG time
"knew id love it before i even listened"
--to-->
"disliked it for 2 years except a few songs"
is this reversed?
Nope it isn't reversed.
Left was the most immediate for me, right took the longest.
Like I said though, I didn't dislike any of them at the start.
It's just the ones on the right took the longest to grow into my favorites.
Respect, hope the rest of your day goes well
ok that makes sense
its just that both discovery and currents are very immediate albums thats all :^)
Currents I didn't really dig first listen, but I kept coming back to it over and over, and with each listen, different songs became my favorites.
Eventually it grew into my top 3 after a couple months went by, and has remained there since.
Past Life was my least favorite track at first listen by far.
Might be tied for my favorite now.
Discovery I've heard since I was like 12 (21 now), but I rarely ever listed to the whole thing, and mostly just stuck to a few tracks.
It's only over the past few months that I've grown to appreciate the whole thing as much as I do now.
I've always liked it a lot, but took a while for it to become a favorite.
>> there unironically is people who consider mucore as the basis of everything
that's exactly what i'm saying, fuck this entire baord and it's indiehead p4k approved taste
