>hey guys, I'm gonna review this $300 guitar >now don't mind me while I run it through several pedals and a $2000 amp
Camden Price
This. I hate how every guitar or gear review now is processed af through the computer.
Alexander Nelson
Oh I think that poor fellow has made a huge error with the design of that guitar. You see the truss rod access point being at the nut is a terrible design flaw. Picture related, a high quality guitar should always have the truss rod access point at the heel. Rookie mistake.
Luke James
I watched some random video that popped up in my recommendations the other day >here's literally the cheapest piece of shit I could find on Amazon >now let me run it through a Mesa Boogie and a fucking EQ
Parker Williams
>t. I have to justify the money I spent. Fuck off, Richfa/gg/™, with your fancy shmancy guitars. Not just one, mind you, but two! Squier is just as good as either without having to pay for a stupid label on the headstock. A couple of hardware upgrades and it's off to the races. Hope you're happy putting some other schlumps kids through school.
Juan Taylor
>processed through a computer explain exactly how someone is supposed to get a gear review online without processing it through a computer
Kayden Harris
What he means is they put it through a totally produced mix. Hard to tell what something really sounds like unless you hear it raw.
i can't watch people who remind me of myself sing bc i cringe so hard at myself singing so i'm not watching this
Jack Rogers
Being this dumb on purpose Get a job poorfagg Thanks for clarifying
Samuel Foster
once again how are you supposed to hear it raw after its been processed through a computer
Caleb Carter
being faithfully digitized != being manipulated by a DAW
Gabriel Bailey
How about i do your mom raw and then process that on a computer? Would i still be doing her raw?
Jaxon Stewart
a recording by definition would be a digital process which would take place through a computer which would negate anything even remotely resembling a raw or faithful reproduction of an organic/natural sound because of the digitization process
Grayson Hernandez
see
Grayson Cooper
>straining at gnats this small
Cameron Barnes
wtf it is the most faithful reproduction of the microfone's output as it doenst add analog artifacts or saturation.
Logan Cooper
digital recording is processing and manipulation by definition
Austin Wilson
manipulation extends to making it sounds different than it does live in ways like compression, eq. quit being stupid, it irritates everyone and you get nothing from it
Cooper Russell
reproduction = copy = process to mimic an original signal
Jason Howard
i saw that shit too.
someone turned me onto 60 cycle hum who does some spotlights on cheap gear every now and again. Of course they're still guilty of "run this cheap guitar through expensive equipment" but they often break down the faults of the equipment and whats worth looking at.
I just wish people that obviously have the money would run cheap gear through an amp the person buying it would probably use with no EQ. It would be refreshing.
Dominic Mitchell
You mean Fluff?
Landon Morgan
What's the difference between the PHONES output and outputs 1 & 2 on the back?
Because I plugged in my speaker to the PHONES output and got more way bass out of it. Like, the bass was nonexistent from the regular outputs.
But on my studio monitors in my dorm I get good sound using the back outputs.
Elijah Rogers
setting an input level is a manipulation of the original signal digital recording is a process that produces an approximation of the original sound
Michael Cruz
Goddamnit stop. Just stop.
Camden Torres
i said shit tier trolling
Brayden Moore
(You)
For reference this is the speaker I'm using. It doesn't have a TRS input so I used a 3.5 to banana splitter and a 3.5 to 1/4 adapter.
tl;dr this sounds better through phones output, why?
I've tried the korg miku stomp for a week before and got some usage out of it after getting around the latency. That being said, is it worth 200$ still.
Henry Moore
Fluff
Jackson Fisher
What gets my goat is fuckers who use expensive guitars, mics, etc. on cheap amps then process that shit to sound great then you go and buy that amp because you're stupid and damn it fuck!
Adrian Ramirez
yeah if you mic an amp really good you can make any piece of crap sound great
Jacob Flores
If you're looking to record a nice Julien Baker type guitar sound through a Fender Deluxe III, what sort of settings do you want? What kind of mic and what sort of placement for the recording? What pedals?
Justin Gray
i asked for someone to explain exactly how someone is supposed to get a gear review online without processing it through a computer and instead of an explanation i got arguments which claimed no processing was taking place, all of which i have now soundly put to rest. if you care to answer my original question with a proper answer i'm all ears
Easton Ross

Stop. You're not clever. You're not funny, you're not smart. You're not impressing anyone.

i'm still waiting on that answer user

>Guitar has pearloid on it Why is it so common, it's fucking hideous and ruins the aesthetic of every guitar it touches
Jonathan Ortiz
You've been BTFOd just stop man
Benjamin Wood
>pearloid the discerning guitarist calls this mother-of-toilet-seat
Ayden Brooks
I dunno, I think it looks nice on my Martin.
Jace Perez
Daily reminder that stratocasters are ugly

I have once fantasized about the most versatile guitar you can imagine just as a thought experiment What would you come up with? The abomination I would end up with would be something like this: -8 string -Fanned frets -Big scale -Jumbo frets -Floyd rose bridge -G#BEADGBE -3 D-tunas on the bottom 3 strings for max drop tuning possibilities -Fuckit, D-tunas on all strings for switching between tunings even easier (let's assume the fuckers even work as intented) -Tremol-no for maximum bridge type choice -HHH pickups -5 way selector -coil tap for whatever the fuck reason (Blues/jazz?????) -let's throw in active/passive switch for good measure -and a killswitch at that
For the sake of the thought experiment; let's assume all things work as intended (especially fucking d tunas goddammit)
Elijah Robinson
>-8 string Unironically stopped reading right there.
Nicholas Rogers
>truss rod adjustment at the heel Very nice my friend. Take note everyone, this is what a high quality, well designed guitar looks like. All accomplishments start off as aspirations, if you ever intend to be a real guitarist then owning a guitar with the truss rod access at the heel is a must somewhere along that journey.
Caleb Davis
>thinks tortoise shell is pearloid
Tyler Bennett
>martin >quality Puke, next you'll tell me the les paul is the pinaccle of electric guitar design.
Benjamin Flores
ayo gotta be 4 semitones higher than a bass guitar or you ain't shit
Jose Murphy
>thought experiment >thought >/gg/ not likely
Robert Rodriguez
There's lots of pearloid on the guitar. A closer look.
Levi Gray
That's acceptable, I'm talking about this garbage
Jackson Flores
Where's the truss rod adjustment access point on a Les Paul my friend? I think you just answered your own question.
Christopher Clark
This is the best /gg/ meme in ages
Justin Rogers
hot take: J Mascis Squier is as good if not better than most current Fenders
Alexander Evans
nice intonation you got there FAGGOT
Brandon Bennett
Push/pull pots that can put the humbuckers in parallel > coil tapping Single coily tone with no hum.
Austin Nguyen
It doesn't matter at all. You'd be lucky to get a les paul where the truss rod actually does something, even if the adjustment placement is retarded it might as well not be there at all in most cases.
Caleb Cook
Both of my Pauls have truss rods that work just fine.
Colton Watson
Delusional poorfags should be banned on site
Lucas Foster
See
Michael Martin
they must not say "gibson(tm)" on the headstock
Charles Harris
One of them does. It works just fine. I have used it to make adjustments.
Tyler Edwards
He probably can't check cause threw the headstock out after it broke off.
Josiah Foster
finding a good amp is the source of a good tone only took 2 moths to a any new guy
but these online communities including Sup Forums always have fender/gibson shills perpetuating axe sales by being ultra snobs/elitists
Camden Phillips
My Gibson Les Paul's headstock has remained intact in the 15 years I've owned it because I am an adult who can take care of his shit like an adult. It goes in the case when I'm not playing it. None of that stand bullshit.
Daniel Price
>buying a gibson
Luis Miller
>thinks abalone is pearloid
Haha, I like pearloid on surf guitars but not black pearloid.
Xavier Flores
I wouldn't buy one now but I don't regret buying the one I did 15 years ago. It's a great instrument.
Levi Wright
i'm sursprised you don't hang on the wall next to your state dentistry cert
Brandon Jackson
>tfw only a Gibson™ is good enough
Josiah Price
>2002 gibson >great instrument Indeed, almost as good as the early 80s when the plants were filled with people getting fucked up on the job. Nothing like like determining complex measurements after polishing off a pint of canadian whisky in your morning coffee.
Jace Cook

Angel Diaz

This is Sup Forums. Every thread is just shitposting from beginning to end.
Eli Hernandez
yes hello
Nolan Collins
it seems like everyone who posts here has an ax to grind
Matthew Green
An axe? Like a guitar? Hahaha oh user!
Dylan Parker
There certainly doesn't seem to be too many happy people on Sup Forums.
Aiden Hernandez
>Gibson haters >people licking Fenders asshole >no actual advice or feeback >shitposting about guitars you don't even own >everybody accuses you of being a certain troll, perpetuating the shitposting It's worse than /vg/ in here.
Brandon Taylor
who are you quoting?
Austin Brooks

Luis Peterson
i can give you my handmade takeda gyuto and watch you lose a finger trying to slice an apple, i can take your sysco/gfs/etc machine stamped knife and make a perfect brunoise of the same apple.
the manufacture of the tool matters lass than the hands using it.
Kevin Myers
>Even thinking about buying anything from an American guitar company
Elijah Reed
I only buy glorious nippon wood, chopped 4 million times
Leo Gutierrez
I could hand you a gibson and watch you lose a finger sliding across the expised fret tangs. What's your point?
Benjamin Gray
>lose a finger sliding across the expised fret tangs are you a woman? you exagerate like one
Parker Hernandez
Are you a twink? Because you must only play open chords
