user, don't trust what you hear in phone videos of live Grimes performances from the Art Angels era. The particular combination of booming bass and high pitched vocals/instrumentals running through most of her rep. might as well have been tailor made to cause frequency (pitch) distortion in anything less than professional-grade recording gear.
I learned this first-hand from attending one of her summer 2016 shows. I went in expecting a fair amount of dodgy pitch issues specifically in her live vocals (because of having watched YouTube footage) and was very surprised to find that almost nothing of that sort jumped out me during her entire set with me live in the room.
