Agreed. How many albums does this guy pump out a year? Is anyone making sleepy big band music anymore?
Its there, just not as loud
dustwave
It's not just sleepy big band.
He played big band music through a phonograph and recorded the sound from a room below. It apparently has something to do with dementia and alzeimer's, and how the brain has trouble accessing previously readily available memories.
And I'm pretty sure he played for a bunch of people afflicted with the disease and they liked it.
Anyway, something like that. And it's pretty ingenious I think.
this thread fucking sucks
is the main character of axiom verge modeled after leyland kirby
fuckin brilliant emjo / 10 ignore the h8 b8
Ill do that later today i guess. Im gonna touch it up a bit more
he's releasing 2 albums a year since 2016, can read all about it here thecaretaker.bandcamp.com
pretty cool all he does imo, when you read about it and listen to them all in order.
I own every piece since "An empty bliss.." on vinyl too, and the prices are going upwards so it feels pretty gud
I was asking if anyone produces fresh big band music in that sleepy style. I think the idea of playing Caretaker to oldies is pretty dark and self absorbed.
