I don't.
I think vaporwave is very comfy and futurefunk is very high-cut
bait
how is this not over yet? I got into vaporwave like 2 years ago and it already felt like I was late to the party back then
Doujins when?
if this is bait then imma bite hard into it
tasty thighs
I like future funk, it's groovy.
>tfw it still gets me
there's already porn
vaporwave is dispassionate new age deconstruction
perhaps i will someday listen to future funk
What would the plot be?
Gonna need a link
it is, the only people still dogging this are really unpopular high school kids
t. 2011 eccojams originalfag
Complete shit
Yeah but I want story in my porn.
nigga tha's gay
Stopped paying attention around 2013 but people were saying it was dead even then.
real fonky
Why are Sup Forums nerds so desperately eager to remind each other that futurefunk is "over" or "dead"?
We get it, futurefunk isn't topping the charts or dominating youtube's front page, it never did. Now what?
>not fucking her through her leotard
cmon son
>isn't dominating youtube's front page
but it literally did for about a year and a half before being replaced with lofi hip hop streams
and why the hulk is fuggin her i dont know either
honestly I miss vaporware generals
I wasn't aware of that. Sup Forums's endless stream of variations on "futurefunk is dead" kind of drowned it out.
it's user you newfag
when my album is done I'm gonna shill the shit out of it, so you better be ready. I'm gonna make vaporwave dark and edgy. But not in a gay DnB way like WosX
ok
Hello me
What's your angle?
Both are great genres, but nobody (at least that I know of) has made anything super grand out of them yet.
I'm making a 3 disc album. I don't consider myself vaporwave, but I definitely know people call me as such.
I side with vaporwave. I await a 3 disc future funk album to rival mine.
Thumbs up emoji
Very bouncy!
Oh man if those were quads
I don't know what your music sounds like but regardless of the genre, if you use dry digital percussions that go click click click and clack clack with zero reverb or texture, you should kill yourself.
What should futurefunk-tan be doing in further drawings?
I would never. Percussion without any texture on vaporwave is disgusting. It's basically just trap at that point.
I don't use any sounds other than samples from albums. It's full on plunderphonics. Don't worry about bad gimmicks. I don't use them. I just make music
glad to read this
soundcloud.com
I have a discord too if you like. PM me on Soundcloud and I'll give you my tag
I never managed to figure out discord so no
circlejerking will happen later on
where would you like her to go
Oh wait I remember now.
The music is nice but holy shit your visuals are trash.
not sure that's why I'm asking for ideas
getting plowed by indierock-kun or rap-kun
fuck that shit
also intercourse is boring
I remember listening to vaporwave in 2012 and i was an unpopular high school kid
Alright
Not looking to circlejerk. Just like talking to people
Thanks. Sorry you don't like the visuals. I could definitely do better
this.
NOV 2012

There's only 6 or 7 competent future funk artists, most of them are pretty shit. That includes most of the stuff on Artzie. early vaporwave however is excellent, and will go down as one of the most important musical endeavors of the 2010s.
there's also vaporwave-chan and synthwavechan to play with
Absolutely but what should they do to one another?
Why are you obsessed with the historical legacy of vaporwave, which is a genre that's about curating and celebrating preexisting music rather than about innovating?
opening Christmas presents, but with an erotic twist
that seems out of character and doesn't sound very erotic
watching a movie from 1984 on an old Mac computer while slowed down Japanese funk plays and also like eating each other out or something idk
we're not getting anywhere
Really good, you should listen to Prom King by Skylar Spence if you like Future Funk
saint pepsi >>>>>>>> skylar spence
Nice, any more like this?
I'm not obsessed you fuckwit, it's not a coincidence that some of the best vaporwave is the stuff that first came out.
stop being mad and stop valuing novelty
how come the best vaporwave track of all time is only 2 minutes long?
youtube.com
it's a curse
Nah, different. Saint Pepsi is when Ryan sampled music (like literally just slowing it down, adding reverb, and then looping parts); when he got a notice from Pepsi that Pepsi was copyrighted he became “independent” so to speak, and became Skylar Spence, and started making his own music, which is 10x better. I have his album, Prom King (9/10 some songs were too slow for future funk standards), which is fire. In the song “Can’t You See”, one of the lyrics goes:
>I was working
>Tried my hardest
>Slowed some music down and called myself an artist
Which directly references his Saint Pepsi days. Ryan is the same; his persona and music style is different.
Name one vaporwave album in the past two years than can stand up to something like eccojams.
Nice. Any albums you recommend like this?
my point is that his own music is significantly worse, it sounds overproduced, too contemporary, devoid of the ethereal charm of his earlier stuff, and his voice is gay as fuck.
>opening Christmas presents
I'm not sure if that'd be in character or out of character for vaporchan
I feel like she'd encourage people going to K Mart to buy as many presents as possible, but not actually celebrate it herself
Why vaporwave will sound worse as time goes on
>my point is that his own music is significantly worse, it sounds overproduced, too contemporary, devoid of the ethereal charm of his earlier stuff, and his voice is gay as fuck
>mfw
Have you even listened to Prom King? And that’s the style he produces in. You can’t look at pop and say not enough base, you’re using the wrong criteria
i tried drawing vaporwave-chan too but i'm drunk and that hairstyle is a bitch so here ya go
check his album
I have, you idiot
>muh stylistic relativism
some styles are worse than others
millenial pop is worse than vaporwave
so of course, when you start making millenial pop instead of vaporwave, your music is gonna get worse.
overreliance on lines for shading my man.
and the hair's pretty easy you just gotta make smaller tighter curls
that is some really tasteful shit
Ok, I can agree with that, but you can’t tell me that his sampling is better than his new stuff, which he creates himself. He can warp anything he wants to sound like what he wants, instead of having to search for samples, and that’s really the beauty of it
Cheers!
Look, originality is as cheap as anything. There's beauty in warping samples and there's beauty in creativity, what matters is what comes out at the end. And his pop is WORSE than his vaporwave/futurefunk, plain and simple.
it's supposed to be a statue
i can see the hair stuff
Ok, I can agree with you on that. But samples will be rubbed out at some point, and the only thing left to sample is new shit; so then, sample music gets worse and then this downward spirals. So how do we prevent this from happening? Create better new music for future generations to sample and take creativity from. Ryan has tried that. You say that he failed, but I’d say it’s a step in the right direction
>So how do we prevent this from happening?
I'm not in this conversation, but that answer is easy. Sample more obscure music or get better at it. Sampling is as seemingly endless and limitless as there is music to sample. You can make a good song by sampling literally anything, and you can sample it however you like. Even to the point where the original track becomes unrecognizable. All that matters is how you transform it.
just post good futurefunk porn you fag
It's not. The appeal of vaporwave isn't just that samples are being used, is that they're used in a specific way to create a specific atmosphere, which he didn't even try to recreate.
A step in the right direction would have been to slow down his new music, add reverb over it, add a hi-pass, and for fuck's sake, to get a decent singer for it.
>WosX
I hate that hack so damn much.
vaporwave aesthetics are fundamentally better than vaporwave music itself
sort of
go away
dream catalogue and orange milk records is my shit
future funk is a bit shit though
poor man's house muzak
why did this post make me laugh
it's the drugs
so now that i have a source... THAT'S what the dude was saying was gonna freak people out as his fetish shit? some high 80s waistlines and loaded diapers?
homie we've all been online longer than that, sure that shit's vile but it's nothing special when you're always about 2 clicks away from /d/
you're a sick freak, but hey: you do you
lol what
youtu.be
best vaporwave album of any of the subgenres coming through
I just said you weren't gonna like it, not that you were gonna freak out, big guy.
Reads like a bit of a freakout to me.
I like it, good music for napping or just chilling out.
for doing graphic design too
Yeah. James Ferraro is a perfect example of this.
Where did this post come from
truth
vaporwave album covers (the original ones from 2011-2013, not soundcloud tier shit) can be really good, almost always better than the music
