i will never understand the appeal of Double Indemnity

What did you like about Red Desert?
What did you think of the anti industrialization undertones, do you think it can be appreciated without delving into them?

...

what do you think of the rest of the bergman trilogy?

Great episodes, bamalam

I haven't seen Silence because I only have access to shitty public trackers, Winter Light is 10/10 masterpiece though, one of those movies that one thinks are objectively among the best cinema has to offer

I loved the story of Vitti's character's trauma and her learning to cope with it. The visuals of the film were effective in making me feel uncomfortable like Vitti's character. I can't say I've looked much into the themes of anti industrialization so I believe the film can easily be appreciated without looking into them.

>TWO SQUARES WITH CLIFFS, BOTH CLIFFS ARE ON THE LEFT
>HOMER ON CAR IS TOO SIMILAR OF AN ANGLE TO HOMER IN THE DESERT
AHHHHHHHHHHH

I believe so too, the beach sequence specially it's something to be baffled by.
Sometimes people tend to hold on to the more grounded themes of an art piece, and by doing this they tend to deprive it of anything emotional, same happens with films within a certain political context, I can't say I am with those people and it is sad to see Red Desert being remarked for just that (the anti industrialization stuff).

I agree on Winter Light, though not my favorite, it's certainly a very important film for Bergman and it could be the same for other people. and it's just a philosophical and technical masterpiece.

My favorites from him are Through A Glass Darkly and Virgin Spring.

And I'd say Silence is worth a watch if you can find it, Filmstruck isn't available in my country but if it is on yours it may be worth checking out.

Gooduh tastuh desu

Is this bump kino?

Viewed in the context of the previous three films it's clear that the emotional and psychological content are his main concerns. I guess the industrialization themes lend more easily to a textbook critical analysis.

A new hope

Red Desert's wasteland imagery (that reminded me of Stalker) was GOAT.

What are the bottom right, middle left, top left and top right episodes?

Mother Simpson, one of the best episodes. Homer staying out in the middle of nowhere to just sit on his car and think about what happened was one of the realest hard hitting things on the show.

What are any of these? Train?

To live & die in LA - Blue Mountain State (series) - Seinfeld
Sissit (1963) - Deutschland 83 - Miami Vice (series)
Z Nation - Unstoppable - Grey
