Based Kurds are doing things by the numbers. They consolidated their foothold, secured alternate supply route by fixing the Qara Qawzag bridge and now they're encircling the town before trying to take it to BTFO as many snackbars as possible.
They could also bypass the town in a surprise move and employ their forces in unexpected ways. Such as moving on Al-bab

Guys I just wanted to stop by and thank you all for the great work you do.
Keep on trucking and may Kek bless you.

The Fuhrer is pleased with your pincers
wasn't that a Blitzkrieg tactic??
Kayden Nelson
Can someone that is into military tactics give me a play by play of how an assault of a town/village works in modern warfare? Seem to me all soldiers do is lay down fire from 500m and hope the other guys scatter. What is the range on those AKs? >inb4 Serb you should know this Yeah, I've lived a sheltered life :^)
Dominic Lopez
>tfw the V*lgars now have двe мopeтa
Xavier Allen
No this is a much more classic encircling operation, basically how to conquer a city 101.
Henry Morgan
so the battle of Aleppo finally gonna happen? are we going to witness the mother of all battles?
Cameron Torres
Depends if it's conventional or more insurgent based like daesh.
Flanking is still a big thing.
Carter Peterson
Mfw Manbij sieged and turned to rubble, can't wait
William Ortiz
Erdogan must be sweating bullets because of this
Feels good mang
James Jenkins
Like aussieanon above me said, you're supposed to be flanking. A bunch of men lay down suppressive fire on the enemy while another bunch of men go wide and try to assault them at their sides. This is why "cauldrons" and circling of enemy positions happens in the greater region of battle.
Jace Harris
Fire and Movement is the basic tactic since WW2. calls for two elements. One pins down the enemy in position with suppressive fire, while another maneuvers to a flanking or otherwise advantageous position to engage the enemy
Not surprisingly most Daesh forces are unable to execute such maneuvers.

Yep this. ISIS basically uses blitzkrieg tactics but without air support. That's why it works very well at first then later falls apart. They rush straight forward quickly.
Instead of air support, they use IED trucks to carve a path forward

Sandstorm incoming over southern and south eastern Syria. Probably going to hit Deir ez-Zor again and grind all flights to a standstill whilst reducing visibility to zero.
Luke Kelly
WILL THE WAR BE OVER FOR CHRISTMAS?
Matthew Green
And ISIS has recalled most of their troops to Raqqa and Deir. This is gonna be a tough one. ISIS is desperate for a victory. They will probably throw everything they got left at it.
Camden Reed
Imagine being a Syrian soldier in Deir stuck fighting in constant battle fighting for your lives against ISIS, and then a fucking sandstorm hits you. I live in AZ so we get these too, I can't imagine fighting in one, you can't see your hand in front of your face or even breathe.
Jeremiah Young
it's happening. Manjib is almost surrounded:

>ISIS is Bill Cosby, he likes to scare them into silence

YPG and secular Syrian State of course. Funny thing: Retardoğan formerly stated that they won't allow any Kurdish forces to Manjib and east of Euphrates.
Ayden Garcia
high five turkbro
Michael Cooper
A)Erdogan openly declares himself a supporter of IS and starts bombing YPG position around Manjib
B)He reiterates just how full of shit he really is

Shouldn't you always leave your enemy a route to escape? If his choices are almost certain death/defeat or retreating, what's the likely thing he will do? If he cannot escape he will fight more fiercely and you are likely to have higher casualties, other option would be to have reputation of treating POW's well so that they might consider surrendering.

/sg/ finally heating up again Kurds making gains Isis being btfo'd
Also i watching france 24 and they said fsa fought off a isis attack xity near Azaz Also they said there are fernch SF in northen syrua

Luke Bell
No gains, Moderate Rebels holding strong against Assad's homosexual hordes.
Dominic Collins
nah... there were some loses and gains last months... but nothing big.
David Allen
there is no offensive on this front... however your isis friends are getting ther shit kicked in on every front right now...

rebels and Kurds making sick gains in the north as isis retreats. SAA now where to be seen. Why isn't Assad pushing to al-bab when it's ripe for the taking? Too weak?
Wyatt Gomez

is al-bab of any strategic importance? let fsa and kurds battle each other, meanwhile push for raqqa
Juan Davis
>ISIS >losing Pick one.
Jordan Brown
Yes it's a big town and would stop sdf from connecting the cantons, if rebels take it then they open another front against Assad in Aleppo. SAA won't take raqqa they don't have the manpower, they clearly fell for the SDF trick.
hmm ... thread was marked archived for 2 or 3 minutes..was that just me or ...?

thats exactly what i was thinking all the time. ISIS airstrike is the VBIED attack and i must say its pretty effective. the psycological effect is enormous ...

Most Rebel groups (especially YPG), are doing exactly that. Suppressive fire with Dushkas on technicals and snipers + flanking with light infantery.

- some East Ghouta gains last night.
- ISIS counteroffensive at Deir Ezzor Thardeh mountains gets REKT by SAA: 20 militants, 1 T72 tank, 3 pickups & a bulldozer
- 'massive' Russian bombing runs and some ballastic missiles on western/northwestern countryside around Aleppo city (Haritan etc) SOON: Tiger Forces lead by Suheil with NDF, Liwa al-Quds, Al Ba-ath Battalions and Arab National Guard will start their offensive here.
- east Hama Russian intelligence pinpoints new ISIS HQ; gets bombed by SyAAF

INCENDIARY!
Jonathan Howard
I think the US will them drop them like a hot potato when they clash with SAA/russians. Its inevitable, Assad and Putin want a unified Syria, the kurds want to carve out a chunk out of Syria.
Zachary Myers
He also died fighting for the liberation of his hometown, Manbij. Sad, eh?

Good afternoon for u guys

>implying US would back out of a proxy war against Russia wat.
Lucas James
Why would they? The US still wants regime change, why would they stop their support if Assad attacks them?
Aiden Thomas
Yeah but going through one minor road while the USAF is watching every inch of dirt in Manbij wouldn't go well. That's a good way to get all your shit assploded.
Anthony Campbell
>Kurd source claim ISIS emir of Manbij Abu Usama AlTunsi has been killed alongside his family while fleeing to Al Bab
Because once they clash with SAA and Russia, the kurds have literally no allies left in this war. Turkey wouldn't wait another moment when Assad or Putin gives an O.K on bombing the YPG.
Ryder Gomez
btw ISIS is getting rekt in Lybia too, they're losing Syrte their "capital" in the country

>Tiger Forces lead by Suheil with NDF, Liwa al-Quds, Al Ba-ath Battalions and Arab National Guard will start their offensive here. >SOON
They have been saying that shit for almost 5 months now. Why can't the SAA advance at the same velocity as the kurds? I see kurdshits taken 5-6 villages per day while the SAA captures a hilltop and then 2 days after they lose it.
Colton Adams
wat????
Turkey wont really do shit if French and American advisors are on the ground amongst the Kurds, nor would Assad or Putin EVER give Erdocunt an "OK" for bombing with Turkish jets in Syrian airspace.
I think Kurds-held areas and Syrian gov.-held areas are going to have to settle into some awkward peace where they negotiate the form of the future government and America desperately tries to use the Kurds as chess piece to force Assad to step down somehow.
Dominic Carter
>killed alongside his family hmmmmmmmmuuuuuuu?????
Grayson Stewart
Around the same timezone with aussies means I get to spend with them every damn time.
Jack Murphy
No they havent been saying that shit for 5 months.. Tiger Forces went to Nubl area just lately and Russia is last 2 days bombing heavily in preparation.
Its another angle than the Handarat camp attacks and its not an Aleppo city offensive.
Jaxon Martinez
evening lad
his family was killed too? idk what to think about this

First, attack by the SAA would bring YPG-FSA (or what's left of them) back to the table. They may hate the Kurds, but they still hate Assad more. Also, Assad and the SAA is powerful, but a war with the kurds would be costly: The holdouts Hasakah would be gone in the first few days. The US would abandon them any second if they weren't useful, don't get me wrong. But keeping them as allies keeps Russia from bombing them - Russia wouldn't dare to attack them. So the YPG can continue to be a constant thorn in Assad's side. TheYPG is just too valuable and powerful in Syria to be dropped. Any invasion by Turkey is a pipe dream, btw.
