>About 80 students and staff at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School have potentially been exposed to active tuberculosis.

>A case has been reported at the Mountain school on Acadia Drive to the city's public health department.

>"Public Health Services has notified most of the people who were potentially exposed and is in the process of notifying the remaining few," it says in a statement. "Notification was done through direct letter with Public Health Services staff available on site at the school and by telephone to answer questions."

>Public health will not provide further details due to privacy reasons including the age of the person infected with TB or where he or she caught the bacteria that most often affects the lungs.

>The department is also not revealing where else the person has spent time in the community.

>TB is a serious infectious disease that is spread person to person through the air.

"There is no significant risk to the broader Hamilton community," says the statement. "Public Health Services has identified all individuals who may have been exposed provided information directly to them on the recommended followup."

Goddamn it, how can a medieval disease appear in a highly developed country like Canada today? It's 2016, after all.

In any case, it's good that their no general risk to the public. We can totally trust what the authorities have to say in the matter.

>medieval disease

Kys

Was it brought in by a refugee?

Actually we'll never know. That's a question that can't be asked in today's Canada. Therefore answer = yes

Some refugees here in germany also caused a minor outbreak of Tuberculosis

stuttgarter-zeitung.de/inhalt.tuberkulose-bei-fluechtlingen-die-reisende-krankheit.8fc95ade-1d10-460b-a956-e6b89ddccea5.html

and the left loves to demonize anyone who doesn't want this kind of shit in their town

fucking monsters

80 anti vaxxers?

>TB

COME ON

IT'S 2016

The disease problem isn't very significant but it sure is a good talking point. Thank God modern medicine hasn't reached the third world yet (assuming it's a refugee who spread it)

Here's a map of the prevalence of TB around the world.

No big deal, I doubt its the drug resistant TB.
TB can be cured easily if you complete and stick with the medication course.

Would be fun to hear it was brought by a fire fighter from SA.

Fuck, is Barton street still okay? It's coming close to the end of the month.

the funny thing is, abos get it at like 40x the rate that the rest of the country.

the left in this country is fucked. they threw a woman under the bus b/c she couldn't play nice when trudeau elbowed her tits.

don't you know that asking questions can be construed as harmful to the general well-being of everyone, and offensive? It's 2016, after all.

>alberta burns
>ottawa sinks
>steel-town is infected
>trudeau & co. are discussing meme ministries and changing our anthem

great time to be alive to witness the second conservative renaissance of Canada, c. 2019.

Drug resistant TB is becoming more and more common though.
And guess where it's coming from.

MY COUNTRY!

YAY, another thing to be proud of.

It came to be because the dumb nogs never finish their medication course. They stop taking the medicine when their symptoms go away so it comes back even stronger.

Rhodesia did nothing wrong.

Nope, they actually went about things more humanely than SA but the international Je... ah I mean hippy element got to them first.

of course they did...i feel so enriched with all these shitnigger diseases from the third world

>South African firefighters who made international headlines for singing when they arrived in Canada have now turned to protests to dispute the wages they're being paid.

>sign a contract
>try to back out after the media says some standard media shit
Wew lad

Typical south african munt!
The only country that has a strike season.

Always want to negotiate after they have signed on the dotted line.

There was an outbreak in the migrant fortune camp north of Paris. They had to dismantle it.

>>South African firefighters who made international headlines for singing when they arrived in Canada have now turned to protests to dispute the wages they're being paid.

Hum. I thought they would have been killed in the fire instead.

I guess I made the mistake of thinking they would do their job in the first place.

>Catholics

Nothing of value was lost.

>Nothing of value was lost.

I think non-Catholic people can go to the Catholic schools in Ontario. It's paid for by the gov't and it's less shit than the public system. It also mostly secular now, with the exception of one or two class. I think.

That was pretty good shitposting. Good work little brother. Make sure you hold the Canadians accountable for their faggotry and islamic cuckolding. Proud of you champ.

Hamilton fag reporting in. Rip me

20-40% of refugees have TB.

Gladly. Also Halton fag here. This city sure is a ride

>was it brought in by a refugee

This disease literally does not exist in civilized countries, it just doesn't. So it has to come from some shithole.

Yeah, it's pretty worrying what is happening.

The vaccine for TB isn't very effective, and it's only given in in Europe because its so shitty. Plus, it removes the ability for us to do a quick TB test to see if you have been exposed or not, because once you get the vaccine, you always have antibodies.

The treatment takes almost a year to complete, and I've heard of 2 year treatment regimens. Plus, the drugs are incredibly toxic to the body.

This is fucking why we need to be careful about refugees, but the idiots don't understand the safety hazard.

Hamiltonian here

Why hasn't CHCH talked about this at all?

Fuck me, They won't say anything about the person with TB

Sure glad I got those vaccinations.
Anti vac people are probably shifting their pants now.
>How can this happen
Dunno. Prepare for your child to die though.

Mountain or downtown

Another hamilton fag here some refugee probally brought tb here we need to "delouse" them like we did back in the 30s and 40s

Don't know. It's in the Spec.

Unlikely

The South African firefighters are on strike.

Im surprised at how many Hamiltonians are on Sup Forums i thought this town was bluepilled to shit.

RELIGION OF PEACE

sauce?

TB in turkey is called "another Tuesday"

Make a separate thread.

wife had bloodwork done for some unrelated ailment and they called yesterday and said they found latent tb in her blood. we live in the country and don't really go to many crowded places, and she's stay at home mom so no idea how she would have been exposed. we think it's a false positive but have another check up with a specialist in a few days to confirm. i think it's a false though.

fucking kek

I don't like this picture

Pretty distant locations.

theglobeandmail.com//news/national/south-african-firefighters-in-alberta-to-be-demobilized-over-pay-dispute/article30363833/?cmpid=rss1&click=sf_globe

2 billion people have latent TB, it could very well be she contracted it from a 3rd world migrant while grocery shopping or something

US and Canada are letting in all these fucking Somalians and Eritreans and shit and they're bringing their TB with them

>stay at home mom
Looks like she's catchin nuts from refugees man.

My GF works for a county health department on the west coast as an epidemiology intern. We recently had a TB outbreak that effected the homeless population.

She says its basically passed around because homeless people are the least likely to get medical treatment. If they are positive, they have to quarantine them in a motel for like 3 months so it doesnt spead.

Our outbreak hasnt had new cases in months.

blame canadians shitposting this board 24/7

OK

>Canada
>highly developed

The Canadian shitposting meme is just misinformation and distraction meant to fool average changoers brought about by the zionist jews controlling the austrailian government

AHAHAHAHAHHA

Kill yourself

100 dollars says it came from one of weedmans refugees.

wake

up

sheeple

If I remember correctly, half of the world has tuberculosis.
Its all about staying healthy enough for it to stay latent and not be able to progress.

>yfw the mycobacterium tuberculosis species has achieved a bigger evolutionary success than the human species

>exposed
It'll be news if 80 are infected. Just walk into any random nursing home and you'll be exposed to TB, just walk into any random hospital and you'll be exposed to a bunch shit.

Yea it's actually fucking startling. I've even met Hamiltonians by accident on Sup Forums Minecraft servers and whatnot.

Every time our city is mentioned, the prevalence of Hamiltonians stating which part of the city they're from is really unreal.

One of my partners on the ambulance did chest compression on a guy that had blood shooting out of his nose and mouth with every compression. Got all over my partner and they told us he had TB only after the event ended.

Partner was fine.
