What's McGregor's reasoning for this fight? Mayweather is done, he's got nothing to lose and it should be an easy win for him.

McGregor is young, at his peak and the biggest star in the world. Getting BTFO by Floyd is going to ruin his brand and his appeal. He'll never be able to draw dimes the same way after this. Is the $100m purse really worth it?

>Is the $100m purse really worth it?
yes
>ruin his brand and his appeal
no

$$$$$$$$$
gee, I wonder

>Literally Who is the biggest star un the world

>Is the $100m purse really worth it?
yes

McGregor is a prostitute he's ok with Floyd fucking him because the money is right

>implying he's getting $100m

I doubt he'll give a fuck about his brand after he immediately retires with 100m

he hasn't defended his UFC belt ever, and he clearly doesn't plan to. you think he gives a shit? all he cares about is $

Everything is staged. He'll lose, but the fight will go the distance. Mayweather remains undefeated, MacGregor saves his image by showing that he went the distance against one of the best pound for pound fighters ever in a sport that isn't his. Everybody gets rich, and continues to make money. Foamfist and cagegrope fags remain happy.

win-win scenario, literally nothing will change after he loses except he's $100m richer

everyone who thought he would win will just harp the things people said before the fight, that he never had a chance vs. an actual boxer and if floyd went into the octagon he would wipe the floor with him

Sure he will. No one really cares if he loses. There's no shame in losing to Floyd, no one will blame him. If he puts in a good effort it's enough.
Besides it's a spectacle first, a "real" fight second...I'm sure it'll be "suggested" that Floyd draws it out.
Second, he's not going to fight forever. The notoriety of fighting Floyd is to set up the post-MMA stage of his career as a public persona, actor, whatever.
Third, yes the money is worth it.

Boxing is dead and people are getting tired of MMA shit. This was the logical conclusion for both sports.

>he thinks Mayweather won't constantly rock McGregor's head back leading to a TKO that kills the UFC through subsequent memes

Pretty much this. The money involved these days is so absolutely off the scale you best believe everything down to the finest detail is carefully managed. Mayweather and McGregor have already had meetings hashing out how they are going to play the build up and trash talking and all the jazz.

Wouldn't surprise me if they have gone over the fight as well.

It's all a highly crafted spectacle with every step made to maximize profits. These two don't hate each-other. They're business partners.

this has to be bait

McGregor couldn't go the distance in a 12 round boxing match if his life depended on it

He'll be lurching around the ring like a drunk if it goes past 8

>Is the $100m purse really worth it?

Look at it this way.
You, presumably with no boxing experience, are offered 100 million to fight Mayweather.
Do you take it?

Does people talking shit to you online really matter so much when you've got millions?

>doesn't have to defend against anything other than punches
>shorter rounds
>floyd will hug you for 50% of the match

It'll go the distance and Mayweather will win by UD. McGregor won't get KO'd, but he won't tire out as quickly as you think he will either.

MMA fighters make peanuts and this fight will set him and several generations of his family up for life. What's there to understand?

he got BTFO by Diaz in his own sport and came back stronger and beat him (in a majority decision, but still a W) and that fight had a record number of PPV buys for a UFC event
if (when) he loses he does no damage to his reputation because nobody thinks he can win anyway, and taking on an impossible challenge goes with his super confident persona

>people still think these high end boxing matches aren't staged af

Will Connor pull a Donald Trump?

Scam a lot of people? Absolutely

McGregor is going to retire after this most likely.
his training partner died in the ring, and he just had a kid, I cant imagine he wants to fight anymore. 100million purse is a good way to go out and with it being a boxing match, theres no pressure to win

Which one pulls away first? This is never going to happen.

>is 6-10 fights worth of pay with no downside and the potential to become considered the GOAT of all time if you somehow fluke a KO worth it?
Hmmm I wonder....

this is the only thing that im uncertain about. no doubt flloyd will go easy on him and not knock him the eff out, but can mcgregor actually manage to last 12 rounds? he was gassed as fuck after 2 against diaz

yes, hes very obviously been showing less and less interest in actually fighting in recent years. this is his retirement fund

'e's a fockin' fief

Why? It's an easy fight for both. Mayweather gonna Mayweather and just be slippery as fuck while landing a few punches here and there, enough to win by points. McGregor won't be able to outbox but he isn't going to get a beating either

>Is the $100m purse really worth it?

Yes?

McGregor needs one last cashout before retiring, and he knows he would lose his belt, if he tried to defend it, and he doesn't want that. Also there's much more money in this.

>after he immediately retires with 100m
is the public really stupid enough to pay $100 to watch a senior citizen beat the living shit out of a retarded potato?
sure, he'll get $100 million if 5 million idiots buy the ppv but im just not buying it.

Give me some proof that they are -

>McGregor won't get KO'd

...

McGregor will make over 100 million dollars for the fight.

>he was gassed as fuck after 2 against diaz
He was fighting at a significantly heavier weight for that. That said he'll be bollocksed after 4.

Make a massive fucking payday and quit the scene as a hero or a billionaire

>Getting BTFO by Floyd is going to ruin his brand and his appeal

literally everyone expects Floyd to win because it's a boxing match and Conor is an MMA fighter

it's a win-win for Conor:
lose to floyd: well he had no chance anyway
win over floyd: sensational fight, he actually did it

i don't follow boxing or mma but i read somewhere that mcgregor was going to retire anyway so he's doing the fight for the big payout.

I love how McGooberchin fans are afraid to take a loss with their boy to Maywhether. All that pre-fight deflection because they know it's an almost guaranteed loss

>I'm rooting for a team
>Even when we lose, we win
>Because he gets mad cash from it dude lol

But yeah, if he's getting $100m of course it's fucking worth it, you joking? His fan base isn't going anywhere, and he has enough skill in his own sport to actually be relevant... Now only if he would defend that goddamn title. Top promotion in the company, literally nothing at stake when he fights. That's fucking stupif. Dana White has just been milking the fuck out of his name with titles attached to it, all the way up to the Maywhether arc hyping it up.

Basically he will just say "hehe but in a REAL fight..." then walk away with 100m.

>make $100m to watch a nigger run away from you for 36 minutes

Seems like a no brainier.

The UFC Heavyweight champion makes about 700k per fight. He would have to fight 142 times to make what McGregor will make in this one.

And after this fight, McGregor can retire in peace, without being punched in the head and eventually facing a newcomer that will beat him up pretty badly.

100m for a win win situation. He he wins he is superhuman. If he loses.. so what he's not a boxer. And take home retirement money for his whole family and future generations of McGregors.

Conor probably feels in the back of his mind that theres nowhere but down from where hes reached as far as MMA is concerned. That the significant height/reach advantage that was a big part of his effectiveness at FW will be gone at LW, and that if he sticks around it could all come crashing down Ronda style at any moment. Theres so much pressure on him and a huge target on his back.

The boxing match is a way to earn a mammoth payday and get an unprecedented amount of attention so that he can immediately retire from combat sports and parlay it into Hollywood and WWE gigs. Even if he loses he can just tell Floyd to fight him in MMA (which will never happen) and then call him a pussy.

Nothing happened when he lost to Nate, he just got richer off of it. Who cares if he loses to Mayweather in a boxing match? It's all upside and he's going to make as much in one fight as he's making in the next 5 years of UFC.

Floyd doesn't have a legitimate KO in 10 years idiot

Everyone he's fought in the last 10 years has been an elite level boxer

Pretty sure over 12 rounds he could beat up a novice so badly the ref stops it, even if it's not a one shot KO
