Concealed is objectively better, you don't want people knowing that you have a gun. It's better to catch them offguard.

open. the pro is that its better in every way, and the con is that i have to listen to actual gun owners, pro 2A people, who think they know something, talk shit about it.

drawing from open carry is faster and cleaner. open carry puts on display the fact that if you even start to act up, i will fucking shoot you. you were warned, passively. and literally nobody gets the drop on you if you are aware enough of your surroundings, which you had better be no matter how you carry.

I open carry sometimes on the city trail when I am walking my dog... just because I find OWB to be maximum comfy.

Going in and out of my home and my vehicle I usually conceal carry. Mainly because I completely ignore businesses with posted signs barring firearms and I don't feel like dealing with some low IQ store manager.

To me it seems more respectful toward the people you interact with to be openly carry. People may want to act different, perhaps more careful knowing you have a gun. You should not deprive them of that option.

i don't think high ride is that much of a mistake when you've resolved to carry without a retention device, but i don't personally like it myself, either.

I really don't at all. I would feel 100% safe without carrying. I just carry because it is better to have it and not need it instead of need it and not have it.

I conceal Carry. I've been CCing for a while now-need a new shoulder holster, though, since I got a new gun (a Glock 34). Right now, I use a Tokarev with Privi JHP in a shitty Falco holster.
Tons of people do it up here, just few openly admit to it. Hell, my LGS not only knows I carry, but approves, saying they "feel safer" when people do in-store. The owner has expressed frustration at how hard it is to get permission for his employees to carry.

OC with a NR firearm for the purposes of transportation is totally legal, it just has to be unloaded. But most people don't know that, so the cops will inevitably be called.

I do both depending on my mood and where I am going.

Depends. Open if I'm going to the range. Conceal if I'm jist doing my day to day.

I carry a Russian Makarov. Sure it doesn't have the capacity of a glock or whatever, but it NEVER malfunctions, and it's a tack driver. I shoot it better than I do my 1911 or my USP 40.

This is very true. When you go from trying to avoid the situation to being ready to kill the other guy, it freaks them the fuck out, and in a way that is to your advantage.

OTOH, open carry is good if enough people do it. If you're the lone guy open carrying, most people will leave you the fuck alone, but if somebody decides to do something to you, the target that you're wearing is squarely on your back. If every other guy is open carrying, no sane person is going to fuck with anybody.

In principle I'd prefer it if all responsible Citizens were armed and carried open.

In practice most people don't want to open carry and my driving reason for carrying is protection. Having my weapon concealed gives me an edge and greater chance of surviving a violent encounter. If they see I have a weapon I am immediately a target. Easier to pretend to be helpless and get the drop on them.

if i were in your position i would still open carry and just stare them down. they're not gonna close distance on you. go to whatever crowded or semi-crowded area you're concerned about, concealed or disarmed whatever you like, and actively practice planning your movements and other people's movements as you go about. if anyone looks at you, or looks out of place, or just piques your attention somehow, practice your condition orange on him. who cares if it looks weird? your story is that they were looking at you funny so you avoided them.

I conceal carry every day, whenever I'm outside my home.

I don't abide by gun free zones (which in my case is public transit, work, etc.)

It's a misdemeanor and $150 fine first offense, and the only time I'd get found out is if I had to use it.

The best part is that concealed weapons are concealed. And as long as you aren't a fucking idiot, the only time you'd get caught for having it is if you had to use it in a lawful manner.
