They're "trained" in fighting brush fires, which involves (I'm not even making this up) beating the fire to death with sticks. They had to be trained how to use hoses and actual firefighting equipment - oh and given the equipment - when they arrived here because this is a boreal fire, not a brush fire, and they don't actually have nor brought anything to fight a fire with.

Could've paid actual canadian citizens. Could've trained people here at home.
