This
What album do you consider to be the first Dungeon Synth album?
...
Releases that sound like they could be the soundtrack to an Ultima or Wizardry game?
I'M BACK AND I FUCK YOU ALL!
Unironically one of my favorite ds albums of all time.
>Ouch!
Lord Tenebro Chadeficium
The Keep OST by tangerine dream
I shared a couple dungeon synth stuff during nbbmn, and I'll try to get a couple more stuff uploaded later tonight.
>Onoskelis - The Hecate Prophecies in your Cold Throne (1997).
>mega.nz
Same desu
>Hate Forest - Temple Forest (2000)
>mega.nz
>Vindalv - Æptir Pushende Ar (1999)
>mega.nz
Are you the user that uploaded Totenburg - Pestrum for me? And then shared Druadan Forest - Mirkwood? If so thanks for all this, if not keep up the mega's I got unlimited internet right now (;
o am i groovin
Peststurm has good synth bits
That’s not ds
I am! It's nice to see familiar faces, how was your nbbmn?
Was one of my favorite finds of this past /nbbmn/.
Hoping to find an obscure DS that will end up being my favorite of this /dsd/
ritual ambient > dungeon synth
It’s kinda hard to find old school stuff that isn’t already up on YouTube or something...I likevthis one though:
m.youtube.com
So can anybody redpill me on what the cassette game is like? It seems like everything that isn't brand new on bandcamp is "limited edition" and sold out.
Both are great for different reasons
I admittedly get most of my DS tapes through bandcamp but there are a few good labels for it like hollow myths and outbof season
*Out of Season
My nbbmn was pretty great, found alot of great unheard of stuff. Hoping to do the same with dsd. I think I've listened to all the most recommended stuff now but am having a hard time finding new (and less known) DS there is.
Nothing better than some beers and nethack and some dungeon synth.
Thanks I haven't heard this yet. Will be checking out soon. Need to find something that will fit well with me and a friends od&d session tomorrow. So far my favorite unknown find I've found is this
Not the user you were talking to, but I thought this nbbmn sucked. Way too politicized with barely any talk of bm occurred. Even last year was leaps and bounds better. There was no comfiness to be had in nbbmn this year, which I've come to expect at this point. I know I can get heaps of comfiness here in dsd though.
Currently listening to "Age of Spiked Mace," by Carnifexian for the umteenth time in the past two days.
Corvus neblus, that’s good shit
Speaking of this is there any national socialist dungeon synth?
Bantering about bm is always comfy to me desu
This and that wolfkrieg synth album
Also Lamentation but not really
fuck national socialism I want some traditionalist Dungeon synth
O shit this is mad good
m.youtube.com
Why do you faggots always ruin everything. Keep Dungeon Synth underground you fucking losers.
fuck off verminturd
Let them have bandcamp-core dungeon synth. The less known 90's will still be underground.
What makes you say it’s not underground? Certainly isn’t a super well-known genre by most conventional metrics
speaking of lesser known 90s ds, this is awesome.
Why should I join your cult.
RETURN THE SLAB
do any of you guys have a dungeon or own medieval weaponry
My dungeon is my room and my medieval weapon is my old keyboard.
I guess you want to just get fucked evidently
I use this for photo shoots
link to the last thread next time
Idk how despite using this website for some 6 years
don't forget your Spiked War Hammer of Tyranny
I will create trend-chasing overproduced trap-influenced meme-saturated mumblerapper-featuring normie-pleasing tourist-friendly party-oriented booty-shaking Spotify dungeon synth and shill it to big labels just to show wannabe-elitists that they have no legitimate reason to sneer at bandcamp DS.
With dubstep drops.
You'll get fucked if you don't
is there any psychedelic dungeon synth?
Underrated reference right here
I've been working on it these past couple days, senpai :^)
You are pretty good at adjectives user
either referencing dog cartoon or northernlion
Dungeon Synth is so cozy fuck, I just want to curl up in a sleeping bag in the woods and listen to Abandoned Places discography
Slow night. Everyone must be out partyin.
These threads will only get slower and slower unfortunately. There isn't nearly as much dungeon synth to discuss compared to black metal, and the dungeon synth forum probably takes away a decent bit of discussion from here.
yeah i just got back from a pretty wild night at my book club. glad to be back with my dungeon synth brethren though.
does anybody read this guy's monthly dungeon synth digest? it's really great. he highlights a bunch of good releases from each month and writes a short blurb about them. with lots of bonus flavor text
hollywoodmetal.com
just want alder deep back lads.........
>the dungeon synth forum
man i wish it was that active it's so slow there
There is a really creep hooting and chirping going on outside between an own and some other bird
recommend me some drone synth similiar to Mystic Towers, Erdstall and Loremaster
Real dungeon hours now
You might dig this
We could change that
Ah yes, for crushing my foes
Maybe that new secluded alchemist idk
I can only hope for brennan’s glorious return sometime next year
This is a fun collection of typos
Thanks, this is quite good.
Thanks, I'll check it out
Is bandcamp ds bad and if so why? What’s the patrician way to release ds?
it's bad because it wasn't released in 1995
the only good way to release ds is to release it in 1995
Dammit
sorry
What’s your fav release from 95
dungeon synth is mostly very bad music, but the kvlt factor of it being released on cassettes and distributed in 12 copies to be sold in thrift shops makes it authentic and cool.
the second it gets released on bandcamp for you to buy it digitally right of the artist it loses all the kvlt and becomes just like any other low quality synth music
Are cassettes sold on bandcamp okay
but you can also buy them digitally which cancels out the kvlt
>mostly veryt bad music
post examples. I have yet to come across a dungeon synth album that i dislike desu
Kirkwood's stuff predates the first real wave of DS by almost ten years so there's that, also the DSA had one proto-DS record from the 80s but I can't find it now.
is it possible to sell cassettes at a reasonable price but digital at a ridiculously high price in order to make people only buy cassettes?
That’s true. Consider two alternatives though:
What if I only sell the cassette via the merch page but offer no digital version? I do this with my black metal/black ambient and have sold around 50 tapes that way.
Option 2: after I sell out of tapes I delete my bandcamp or switch everything to private. But that seems like it’d be more annoying than anything
I think you can actually make it like non-downloadable, but streaming isn’t svper krieg either
I saw cassettes for $5 per cassette on a bandcamp yesterday. Music wasn't bad either.
Well that’s some undiscerning taste in your end. I think by many objective metrics a lot of DS isn’t great, but I still enjoy about 50% of what I’ve heard
Post your collections lads
That’s p standard, I generally charge $5 for tapes
I think I posted this in a previous thread but I’ll repost it
Here are a few others
Thats good to hear. The only cassettes I've gotten of recent bands recently was much more than that. But they aren't dungeon synth, I think I'll order me some ds tapes right now
Yeah I wouldn’t wanna pay more than $5-$8 for a tape
Unless it's a rare classic
I mean then it would seem more appropriate at least, sure, but I’m still probably not buying it personally
I think my problem was it was a few years old and sold out so I got it from discogs. I don't know how much it was originally.
I've had several opportunities to get a DSII tape and decided against it, always immediate regret as I know they're only going to get more expensive.
A lot of the classics weren’t really “for sale” orginally they just got sorta passed around
Eh there are some things I’m fine with not owning, regardless of how much I like them. Many releases I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’ll never possess it
Also
“Lmao you know what would make captcha even more fun? Making each image take like 10 seconds to load for no reason”
Literally who is responsible for this bullshit
>Lmao you know what would make captcha even more fun? Making each image take like 10 seconds to load for no reason
You mean the fading in thing? Yeah that's bullshit.
I’ve had that and this issue where like it’ll say I mistyped it a million times for some reason.
What’s some soothing DS to calm me down
I wanna get into dungeon synth, but about all I can say I have heard of the genre are some of Burzum's albums.
Where's a good place to start?
>inb4 chart
Mortiis and Depressive Silence and Wongraven and Lamentation
thank ya
