How is it that Americans can simultaneously have the attitudes of "we're the greatest country on earth" and also "this place has gone to shit" ?

It's not two groups of people, there is a massive overlap in these beliefs and it makes no sense at all

only retards think America has gone to shit

Even if it may look like our society has gone down some over the past few years, it's a complete facade. Everything about our country has been expanding. This country has been growing stronger year by year since 1946, and that has not changed at all. Most people live a life of relative luxury in this country, especially compared to places like Russia, China, Africa, South America, etc.

We will always be the greatest country on Earth because we are the only country that is founded on the principle of bettering individual lives, as opposed to furthering the political aims of a corrupt nation-state.

This place will always be going to shit because we are forever deviating from the platonic ideal of Americana, the Washingtonian-Jeffersonian Hypothetical Freedomland composed of a single cottage and a single family, all of home own hunting rifles and sit on their porch in rocking chairs telling Injuns to get off their lawn.

>"we're the greatest country on earth"
You won't find many people who believe that anymore. Almost no one under 50.

niggers

It's not as great as it could be because people won't keep their kike noses out of other people's business

But if quality of life is the measurement of "greatest country in the world" then America definitely, objectively isn't in first position

>We will always be the greatest country on Earth because we are the only country that is founded on the principle of bettering individual lives

So that's why you want to take out your healthcare system

That shouldn't be the measure of what is the greatest country, at least in my opinion. The primary reason America doesn't have the highest is because we have a population that is massive compared to most other countries. People like to give shit about America not having "good" healthcare and shit, this is also the primary reason our quality of life is lower than others, but they don't realize we spend more money on healthcare than anyone else, by a significant amount. Then there's also the so called "class-gap" but that's just American capitalism, if the government tried to remove that there would literally be a revolution over night. There's a variety of other reasons we aren't first in that category, and most have to do with either our massive population, clash of culture which leads to a large amount of violence for a civilized country, etc.

I personally believe the way to grasp what nation is the greatest is to look at who has the most power culturally, militarily, politically, economically, as well as what nation most nations look to be like. Which America is that, in every sense.

I'm not entirely sure if i'm making sense, but it's basically what Gorbachev meant when he said this.

>tfw your cum smells like butter

kekfags should be gassed.

That more shows how inefficient your healthcare system is than anything else.

The population size of your country shouldn't really matter as long as you have enough resources for the whole population, which you do. The main reason your living standards are so much worse than they should be is wealth inequality. America is a bizzaro land compared to every other developed country and it mostly comes back to that

I like the US but it's clear something must be done to get money out of politics. The US has one of the most corrupted politicial systems in the western world. Even Trump turned out to be just another neocon policy wise.

Rome was still the greatest place on Earth even during it's shit times.

I was talking about the same stuff today. Its like we live in the same country or something

>this is Sup Forums's legacy

How embarrassing.

Americans paint their past (cold war, world wars) so positively that they can't help but feel the present is letting the legacy down.

It's also the slow but sure relative decline to the west to the modernizing eastern powers.

American exceptionalness is a real thing, and americans want their country to be exceptional.

you're wrong because you don't know us

No, we want America exactly as corrupt as it is. We can legally buy politicians over there, and that's a good thing for European companies. I don't give a flying fuck that Trump takes away healtcare and give billions of tax money to his fellow corrupted friends. I don't and will never live there. European companies are getting the better deal with this America. Just throw some money into their senate and all doors are open. We should use that like a Russian.

>It's another swampnigger taking credit for his neighbours' policies episode

>We will always be the greatest country on Earth because we are the only country that is founded on the principle of bettering individual lives
That's sweet however the USA values human lives less than anyone else in the modern world.

Your so called "class-gap" caused by capitalism and "is impossible to change without a revolution", is the reason why your global well being index is not that great per capita. Obviously you can't remove a system over night, but you're just deviating further from removing it day after day.

Your president dismiss the unfortunate as "total losers", making society treat them as "total scumbags", which is exactly what they will then become.

You can't just say "well they don't count" and be done with it. That is my idea of a corrupt state if anything.

The fact that you spend more than most countries on your healthcare, and it's still utter shit for most people is just a testimony for that.

The ironic thing about you raising concern about there being a revolution over night if you were to remove your system, is that you're already having the sparks of revolution claiming the opposite. Your BLM movement doesn't really know why they're so angry, and their logic doesn't make sense most of the time. They just feel trampled on, angry and unfairly treated, which many are, color or not.

A revolution may come within 20 years, but it won't be the one you predicted.

USA is great because of money
but after you get past that, it's shit

they unironically believe every other country is a shit hole despite all evidence against this

just the other day some american Chicano tried to bribe a spanish cop with 10€ thinking it was was the third world or some shit

>quality of life
>objective

>just the other day some american Chicano tried to bribe a spanish cop with 10€ thinking it was was the third world or some shit
Kek, source?

Believing that quality of life is subjective and personal is why your country has an opioid addiction problem

actually that's because people choose to abuse opioids, believe it or not.

When Americans say "we're the greatest country in the world" it's like when husbands say their wife is the greatest wife in the world.

Compare European far right with American far right

its a disgrace really

>Trump and kekistani redditors are far-right
you don't know what you're talking about, and the Golden Dawn is an absolutely preposterous laughable party.

>your healthcare system wouldn't work here
>your judical system wouldn't work here
>your gun laws wouldn't work here
