Is season 3 still happening or what?

>yfw colin farrel, vince vaughn and rachel mcadams have never been in any good movies, yet idiots thought season 2 would be good
>yfw RDJ, who has never been in any good movies, is rumoured to be in season 3, and the idiots on Sup Forums and reddit are getting hyped for it too
wtf i have Sup Forums now

>now

Colin was In Bruges though

wasn't there a rumor that matthew was coming back for season 3, together with rdj? or was that a troll.

Season 2 was great though.

there will be no season 3. get over it

Are you faggots still pretending s1 was good besides daddario's tits and muckonahyeah's rants

I think Nic Pizzeria still has a deal with HBO which probably means a whole new show is more likely than season 3 of True Detective.

>in bruges
>swingers
>mean girls

It was good for the most part. The occult mystery stuff were comfy.

>RDJ, who has never been in any good movies
Chaplin was good, faggot. Just because you didn't know who he was before Iron man doesn't change that

Can we just forget 2 happened and continue where 1 left off for season 3?

I hope not.

look at this little speshul snewflake\

beyond reddit

Nobody on this board is old enough to remember this show

The Lobster was pretty good

Was it though? I felt like it didn't know what it wanted to say.

At least season 2 had a decent ending

Season 1's last episode was like an episode of Dexter. It was so fucking bad that I'd actually say season 2 was better as a whole that season 1.

you're trying way to hard to be a contrarian

pick a better target than season 2 of True Detective to up your internet points kiddo

>You know what, Ray? Some people say "when in Rome, do as the Romans do." Well guess what, we're on Sup Forums and I don't see any patricians around.

Not even that user, but you sound like you don't talk to other people much. Season 2 is easily on par with season 1 and manages not to completely shit the bed with its last episode like season 1 did.

kek

Both came out in the same year.

that's a good one.

Why does everyone hate season 2? I haven't watched either yet, but I was hoping Vaughn and Farrell would do well.

Frankposting was so fucking great.

butthurt children upset because it doesn't have muh mchonnehey acting like an angsty middleschooler.

>7 psychopaths
Opinion invalidated

It's not terrible but it really lacks interesting characters and a compelling plot. It doesn't have the mysterious tone of S1 and feels like a regular hardboiled cop drama

It was good until the end. Also, Daddario's tits and Matthew's autism were GOAT.

>vince vaughn and rachel mcadams have never been in any good movies
>he hasn't seen wedding crashers

the ultimate plebeian shibboleth

Your friendly reminder that the writing ruined Rust as a character in the last episode.

>yfw RDJ, who has never been in any good movies
WRONG

It doesn't really have anything that grips you like season 1 did. The story is pretty generic. Vince Vaughn is a fucking mistake. Colin is surprisingly solid.

It just didn't live up to the punch of s01 and it didn't build on the story from the first season. Instead it was meant to connect thematically and it didn't really pan out.

These are the opinions of someone who watches capeshit.

>let me tell you about actors who's movies I haven't seen

>Vince Vaughn is a fucking mistake
Was he not good in it, or was his character just bad? I'd like the guy to do well, it's a shame if he can't pull off acting outside of comedies.

>RDJ
Can he act? I don't mean capeshit """acting""" I mean can he really pull off an emotional, flawed, morally grey character that a show like True Detective demands?

His character has some VERY strange writing

Bit of both. Vaughn isn't a great actor and his character is so tryhard. Like they were trying to get it somewhere but it didn't really work out, but they still went with it.

The problem with S2 wasn't the actors, it was the writing. For the most part everyone did a decent job, even Vince Vaughn, kinda.

Season 2 was great. You're Reddit if you don't like Season 2.

>was his character just bad

Personally I thought his character was bad. It wouldn't have been as noticeable if he didn't get as much screentime though. I get the feeling they cast Vince Vaughan as Frank and then decided he needed a bigger part. He would have worked a lot better if his storyline was reduced dramatically and he just popped up for cameo appearances every now and then.

normies weren't ready for that level of method acting

Season 2 > season 1
Just like every HBO show
The Wire, Sopranos, Oz.

I specifically come in these threads for this.

My niggas, season 2 was god-tier, the writing just expected from you to pay attention and memorize important details which is all you need in an investigation show. Hating on s2 is literally redd͏it-tier ignorance, but that's to be expected from a board that only watches capeshit and michael bay movies

>all this season 2 revisionism
Bravo Sup Forums

Ah yes, the classic Sup Forums contrarian here: defend something dog shit bad and then cry reddit to anyone who disagrees

It had le edgy martial arts gurl and some bullshit with casinos

I enjoyed it but the story elements of S1 were more primitive in every way, and indeed more "reddit." The only things better in S1 were the Marty / Rust partnership and the +8 year jump.

i had Sup Forums all along

>RDJ

Oh God no, that guy is only good for playing Iron Man.

The show was perfect as one season and never should have been a second season. Just moneygrubbing hollywood shits who will make more of anything that makes money hoping to buy bigger boats. Last thing we need is season 3.

Childhood is when you idolize Season 1. Adulthood is when you realise that Season 2 makes more sense.

At first I hated season 2, but it grew on me. I think they failed on trying to do the same dredd feel that did on season 1.

The rust monologues for season 1 were great. Season 2 didn't have the narrative feel, that season 1 did. That really sold season 1 for me.

I wonder what kind of mystery/ location would do for season 3.

>Season 2
>Makes sense

Must be troll

Too many stupid people ITT I'm out

>>>/tumblr/

Dude, you're the one too stupid to comprehend a simple crime tv show

My opinion is that season 2 WAS good compared to most serials on TV but S1 was better because of the production itself, having one director for all the 8 episodes(and a pretty good one at that) and the script being worked on for the last 5 years instead of 20 months really shows.
S2 is still really good though, it just ends in fucking depression mode, it's like if in S1 both Marty and Rust died and were falsely accused for the rapes and the abductions.

Soild bait. A lot of catches lad

So S2 was a let down to S1. That's the point?

Bring her back or we riot.

Season 3 on Pizzagate.
KEK wills it.

if you liked LA Confidential, this is the show for you.
its very similar, maybe with deeper characters.

for better or for worse

>his character is so tryhard.
thats the point faggot

>nic pizzolatto
>pizzagate

like pottery

Season 2 > season 1

Any other opinion is literally R eddit.

If you're a retard that can't appreciate movies/tv series by themselves and is forced by peer pressure to confront them to other series with different themes, messages and development then yeah.
You might as well be disappointed by Better Call Saul because you expected Breaking Bad season VI.

Ray's message to his son failing to send just made me laugh, it felt so pointlessly mean spirited
It tried so hard to be depressing it became funny
I was semi expecting the show to end with a note informing us that the boat sank and Ani died

His son was a ginger pussy faggot anyway, he wouldn't survive in poorfag-tier California surrounded by niggers and spics.
He'll likely suicide by age 15.

I don't care, S2 killed the show, I can't take it seriously anymore.

Colin Farrel
>in bruges
>The lobster
>Seven Psycho paths

3-2 my friend

>the lobster

the lobster was very good

ah yeah, the classic pleb reaction here: call everything I cannot understand contrarian.
S2 was classier and smarter in every way compared to season 1, s1 is basically a slightly smater version of capeshit which is still trash, instant gratification without ever having to use your brain. S2 requires you to think about it and pay attention, and the gratification comes from being intellectually involved instead of le ebin forced drama with sad music

S2 was a pile of shitty mess, senpai, I know it's cool to be edgy and contrarian, but you're objectively wrong.

>art is objective
>senpai
yeah as expected from the average capeshitter

pitch your season 3
>cast
>plot
>setting
>soundtrack

Im I the only one that found the writing to be "decent" if not ok, but the overall idea to be totally pointless in the end?
I liked the neo noir/dirty politics and corruption angle, but the whole seaosn theyre talking about
>some poisoned land being sold
>a murdered guy with links to the mafia
>trafficked girls being used for parties
and none of that mattered in the end. Especially the girls, they made it seem like some pedowood shit was going down and then when mcaddams goes under cover all the girls are totally content with being hookers. At least there was a feeling of danger and purpose on s1 and thats what season 2 was missing IMO

S2 is patrician, S1 is reddit tier "muh atheism" crap

We're going to get both. He's working on a whole new show with RDJ and a group of writers are being brought in for TD3.

TD2 "sucked" because Pizza and Fuka got way too redpilled and went deep down the rabbit hole with season 1.

Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix, and Cate Blanchett
The rampant pedophilia in Hollwood and the three leads working together to take down the pedo rings and revealing that they are mostly run by Jews and that's why there are so many movies about Catholic abuse when the abuse by Catholic priests is 1/100th what it is in Jew run everything.
Setting is Hollywood to outlying places in California and Nevada with lots of illuminati shit.
Soundtrack is Trent Reznor and T. Bone Burnett.

It could never happen for obvious reasons but it would be awesome.

>and none of that mattered in the end
What did you mean by this?
All of that was a part of the conspiracy and the reason everybody was killed in the end.
>they made it seem like some pedowood shit
wut? The prostitution angle was right there from the start.
>At least there was a feeling of danger and purpose on s1
It's actually the other way around. Danger and purpose is in the second season, where the characters are being stalked by the whole conspiracy of gangsters and law enforcement.
Season 1 never got the chance to go in that direction, a lot of this happens off screen and that's why the ending feels so rushed and stupid - after all is said and done, the only "danger" comes from some inbred hick living in the middle of the woods. Who was also a profesional lawnmower lmao.

I enjoy a lot of season 2 and have rewatched it since and enjoyed it even more than the first time through but what you just posted is some "The Star Wars prequels were great!" level fucking bullshit.

All they need is McRust's autism rants, Harrelson's thing he does with his tongue as a nervous tick, and Daddario's tits. Take those three things and just craft stories around them and they can make stories for years.

>S2 is still really good though

>actually being this wrong

Lets just streamline it and have one Sup Forums user picked at random fucking Daddario live on HBO for an hour every sunday. I get to go first of course as I am the creator of the show.

>if you don't like a commonly accepted objective mess you're reddit or capeshit
Really makes you think

Except Better Call Saul was a spinoff, and TD was an anthonlogy. S1 and S2 were basically two distinct crime proceduals that didn't need to bear the name "True Detective"
