I need to see more of him, but I wasn't very impressed by french connection.
I'm glad you liked Naked Island, it looked like your kind of stuff.
give me the most obscure kino recs you got
those pusher movies are so underrated
Yeah really loved it, rowing at one point becomes musical and it's beautiful
nothing like the other films i had seen from him
XIX saukunis qartuli qronika

All of it? He is a very stable director. I mean that if you like 2-3 of his films you are going to like rest of his films.
Killer Joe is my favorite from him.
No love for non-feudal Kurosawa?
Stray Dog?
The bad sleep well?
Drunken Angel?
High and low?
Come on, that's some of his best shit.
>XIX saukunis qartuli qronika
that was a great film, did you see the step?
I love it all but I have a soft spot for the Samurai and feudal stuff.
nope only 20th century and the way home but i see the step is on good quality out there so i might check it out
bottom is oh uomo rite?
names?
Just how /pleb/ am I Sup Forums ?
I don't like her and haven't seen star wars, the rest are good imo
they're all fine films except for the turd shit named Her
9/9 yet kinda disappointed for the lack of Dersu Uzala en High and Low.
Kurosawa's filmography is so amazing that choosing his top 9 makes you discard some great masterpieces.
allow me that one boys, I like Phoenix and I watched it after a terrible breakup.
bitches man
...
how come Solaris is your favorite from tark?
yep
the tree of wooden clogs, don giovanni, isole di fuoco
la notte, nostos the return, segnali da un pianeta in via di estinzione
teorema, oh uomo, padre padrone
Fight Club
glad to see piavoli getting so much love on here recently
I've loved everything I've seen from Tarkovsky but Solaris was my first film from Tarkovsky and it's the one that has stuck with me the most so it holds a special place in my heart.
jeez, I dislike it a lot personally. Though I do only really like Mirror so he isn't a director for me
not that guy and not a huge tarkovsky fan but solaris is really comfy

Nice man. Also a big damn thank you for putting the titles in. These threads ain't great for finding good movies when the images are barely traceable.
You can always ask, keeps the thread bumped too
>3/3
which ones?
True user, and I usually do, but sometime people post n' bolt. Sadly I have no multimovie 3x3 to post but image n' bump.
Dragon Tattoo Girl felt like modern Se7en, I think I like it more too.
b
we were on page seven, chill tripman
what film are you watching/have watched today? me amor de perdicao ep 1
Had you watched any of his films before that one?
yeah I like a lot of his movies, I watched most of his old ones but not the new ones, I heard they weren't really good
Well he kept making movies at 100+ years old, until he died, that's pretty impressive
My fav is the cannibals
...
I highly suggest amor de perdicao, it's perfectly comfy
Goodbye Cp is fucking touching, one of my favorites as well
Also is top mid Destrot, She Said?
...
>The Duelists
bueno
...
>Kill List
That was so intense.
Yes it is.
great, one of my favorites from her as well
londsdale is great
Edvard Munch (1974)
home video sequence of FA is the best
solaris is also #1 tarkovsky for me
also my USA 3x3 from the last thread with titles since people asked:
Love Streams
Safe
Koyaanisqatsi
Dog Day Afternoon
The Searchers
Written on the Wind
Ghost Dog
Zorn's Lemma
Inland Empire
Love these
I finally got around to watching "The 400 Blows".
The camera movement was awesome; very raw and flowing (one of my favorite aspects of new wave). Doinel was a pretty good actor, he really embodied that aimless shit-disturbing of youth. The writing of Doinel was also great, you really feel like you understand him after only a few scenes. Especially when he gets in trouble at school after being treated to a movie by his parents, that scene really hit me hard.
ded
So I've watched most of kurosawa's stuff
Where do I go from here
gosha, inagaki, kobayashi
i don't really get your question. Do you want similar directors? Japanese directors? Samurai movies?
Thanks
Things I would like if I like his movies. Mainly similar directors, could be samurai movies, could be japanese, doesn't have to be. Being vague because I'm not knowledgeable about movies and Kurosawa is the first director that I've really delved into and watched a bunch of his stuff
...
pleb, but u already knew that
Oh, I haven't seen it. I love the visual feel of Se7en, amongst other things. Gonna check Dragon Girl out. Thanks user.
What's the one on the railroad tracks user?
titles?
you should really watch memories of murder
Memories of Murder
Ah fuck, right. Thanks. I've seen it once, but might give it a rewatch.
Le Joli Mai, Fuck Off! Images of Finland, Childhood of a Leader, Rise of Thadland in the past 24 hours or so.
>landscape suicide
you're trying too hard pal
what is the bottom right?
I unironically love this movie
Why do so many people like Inland Empire?
I personally think it's an overlong mess of a movie.
Parts of it are very neat (like the homeless person scene that may or may not be a film set), but on the whole I couldn't get into it. It seemed opaque for its own sake.
indland empire
can't rate sorry I'm kinda busy I'll try to do it later
not him, but why is landscape suicide trying hard? it's one of the more accessible experimental films
i love tokyo drifter
no hate plz
