Try plugging in your cans and you've got a quiet stereo mic. My JVC HA-Rx700 actually sound good! My soundcard picks up EMI on my potato, and my GPU is taking up the slot for a dedicated sound card. Test your recording equipment before you get a nice mic I guess.
