First for Weezer

any other MTG-core?

Thoughts on Summonings dungeon synth EP?

It felt kinda bland, compared to their epic black metal. I feel like their shorter dungeon synth interludes and intros on their albums prove that they can make really good dungeon synth. Though I really wish they used black metal vocals, instead of the clean narrative ones on the EP.

It's not much but it's something I can expand upon.

woops, messed the tag up

Did you improvise this?

I've never listened to Summoning prior to now, but this is all over the place.

>I've never listened to Summoning prior to now

Wtf are you doing here, go listen to their discography right now.

I've never been much of a bm guy. That being said, this EP is actually some pretty inspiring stuff.

>I've never been much of a bm guy
i don't understand this. how did you get into dungeon synth?

I think I had heard some on and off over the past couple of years but didn't think much of it. More recently I found a couple albums in some esoteric recommendations thread here on Sup Forums. Then I saw that there were regular threads just for DS, and my interest was piqued. I think it's interesting that something that started as addendum to another genre's music has, especially recently, evolved into a separate and continuously-growing yet still tightly-knit community.

wow i always thought there was only one way down into this pit. so what kind of DS do you like?

To be honest, I gravitate more towards the medieval and fantastic side of DS, since I don't have much of a BM background (I do like early music though to an extent). I've only started listening a few weeks ago but I've made sure to listen to stuff from all eras.

you should try listening to this. at the very least the second half of it

Thanks. I've held off on Burzum for the longest time cuz of the whole Varg shit, but at this point I might as well give it a go.

>I've held off on Burzum for the longest time cuz of the whole Varg shit

You're missing out mate, Burzum had some of the best dungeon synth ever.

What are some video game dungeon synth soundtracks?

Learn to separate the music from the artist.

Ok I am right now, thanks.

I've made some tracks before but was never satisfied enough with them. These I feel a bit better about.

Everyone mentions Runescape, but Arcanists had a nice little nostalgic soundtrack as well. Much more ambient and eerie at times than RS.
