We are too divided as a nation, and everyone knows it. We are no longer a nation in the traditional sense of the word; we are a collection of people with mixed heritage, with drastically different political beliefs and cultural values. It's at the point now where nothing gets fucking done because our ideas of what America should be are too different, and no matter which way it ends up going, you are going to have 50% of the population disagree the direction. The only solution is Balkanization: the break-up of the United States into many different nation-states. It may be easiest to Balkanize during the next financial collapse, when distrust of the Federal Government is at it's highest.
The question is, Sup Forums, where should we move to to create our own State with our own values? Also, how can we use our meme-magic to convince the population that Balkanization is the correct direction to go?

I honestly don't think secession is a good long term plan. We need a united America, our ancestors shed blood for this land.
If there is secession, the plan should be to secede, then fight a war with the other half, win it, and put our new government in charge of America proper.
The problem with this is nukes, which makes it pretty much impossible for two armed superpowers to open up a conflict with each other. That's why the only way to win wars these days is through propaganda, infiltration, and immigration for a demographic victory.
This is the strategy Putin is using in Ukraine. He's financing rebel groups, showering the citizens with anti-NATO Russian propaganda through RT, and making moves to topple the government so the citizens will look to him for strength.
Could we do something similar with the US? Yes. Whichever state chooses to join us and accept our new government will get their debt cancelled, will get some sort of privileged status (maybe "economic recovery subsidies" or something such as that), and will get under our nuclear shield.
As the rest of the country fails under liberalism, our sovereign would remain strong. With enough propaganda and cloak&dagger infiltration, one by one the other states would join us. At first they would not get an equal vote on our council until they were fully acculturated to the new system. Eventually when we had the majority of states on our side, we could simply put crushing economic sanctions on the rest and strongarm them to join us.

Balkanization of states must require even smaller divisions. The US is larger than europe and you want to divide it up into larger parts? Take a state like Virginia for example. The north is so radically different than the south of the state that driving from DC to Richmond involves going from a region with a 100k+ average salary to a ghetto.
The balkanization of the United States would be much more fractured in the eastern and western shores, and in places like Texas and Florida with large differences in areas.
Realistically,Utah and Colorado would team up, although they have differing culture values they're both the region's powerhouses economically and in the modern era it's about wealth more than morals. California would likely split like Chile, with a thin shoreline independent state and the inland being more aligned with the Mojave area. Same thing would likely happen with Oregon and Washington, with northern Washington likely joining Canada and the rest joining Coastifornia. Inland Western states would join the intermediate region of Idaho and Eastern Washington/Oregon, if not joining the Dakota states. I can see Montana, the richest, splitting off with N. Dakota if the oil industry props them up.
Texas would likely stick together fore the largepart, although I can see a few regions splitting off towards the borders. But it's texas, so they would go and take it back by all likes.
The more likely distribution in the south is a Gulf region, inland Alabama/Arkansas/Missouri area, and then Georgia just kind of being there. Tennesee, W/VA, and Kentucky are all very similar and would likely form a region with Southwest VA and south Indiana, like a supra-Appalachian All the tidewater states would likely bond together.
The northern states would not be so close.
Northeasternmost states would form a weirdo group, with places like connecticutt, Maine, Vermont, etc. all up there in their weird little world.
