Why does this album sound so modern ? If I never knew what year it was from I would guess past decade

Wall of Sound technology, when exercised to its fullest potential, tends to give music a very timeless sound.

That sounds old to be honest. listen to actual music more.

I saw a quote somewhere that said that every track on that album basically gave birth to a new genre.

Like i dont think animal collective, weezer, and many other bands would exist without that album.

The word art pop gets overused for complete morons in the top 40. But that album is legitimately something that could be called art pop

The blue album is pet sounds through a distortion pedal

Woah Animal collective crosses my mind too

What are some other examples of Wall of Sound besides the Beach Boys?

Abba

this accepla version of put your head on my shoulder is one of the most beautiful things i have heard.
Its like, THIS, used to be pop music. I dont think i would hate pop music if it were like this.

You've Lost That Lovin Feeling

>not liking abba
what are you, gay?
if you can appreciate competency in pop music insofar as brian wilson but you can't like abba then you my friend are full of shit

To be honest, I haven't listened to a single ABBA song, I was just trying to be funny.

>I haven't listened to a single ABBA song
not even dancing queen?!

Lololol

I've heard clips of it but I've never listened to the whole song.

This ike & tina turner song is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

Thriller doesn't sound very Spectorish desu

>Not Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)

For maximum wall of sound.

i can top that

Dear jesus so many instruments and layers... I admit defeat wall of sound cat.
