Tapes are better than vinyl

tapes are better than vinyl

fight me

What kind of tape

Both are worthless dead formats for hipsters

Better for what?

No, the sound quality is objectively worse, but you probably don’t give a shit about that because of “muh aesthetics”

Better for storage capacity, compact case, and duribility.

correct

this

>No, the sound quality is objectively worse
So is the vinyl compared to digital or even CD, and "muh aesthetics" is the only argument vinylfags have as well.

I don't see why not.

No, i don't care about it because I prefer more audio capacity.

reel to reel yes
cassettes no

>Magnetic media. On tape that's prone to stretching and warping.
>duribility.
Choose one.

When stored properly, vinyl will far outlast tape.

So DAT would be better than cassette, right?

You'd have to purposefully damage a cassette to have it damaged.

DAT?

Yes, but the argument wasn’t whether vinyl is better than cd or digital, it was whether cassettes are better than vinyl (which they aren’t)

Actually he's right, i mean there is a kind of tape wich is made of some kind of sci fi metal and can actually compete with the "quality sound" vinyl offers, but it's expensive af, and i mean EXPENSIVE AS FUCK DUDE! If Cassettes were still here, good quality sound would be something only white ass workers would be able to afford

Digital Audio Tape

Well yeah, but we're talking analong formats.

So you lose.

No, since digital is not analog.

>not listening to all your music exclusively on phonautograph
Get out normie

Were they really using a hamster wheel as a power source? When was that?

In England they still used that about 15 years ago

>phonautoGRAM

FTFY

Cassette tape is literally the 128kbps mp3 of its time.

I agree. Tapes sound so magical. Sweet fuzz.

It only makes sense for old bm demos

Analog master tapes are only 11-bit in the first place.

And, you know, mixtapes.

This must a joke. Because of the magnetic nature of the format and the fact that it's enclosed in a case, it attracts and captures dust. Dust scratches the tape much easier than it ever scratches vinyl. The only way to clean out the dust once it's in is to take apart the casing and delicately clean every bit of the tape. It's obviously much easier to clean a vinyl record with a soft, lint-free brush. Tapes are also more prone to heat and moisture damage. It takes so much more effort to store cassette than vinyl.

well considering most of us are white people with job prospects I don’t see a problem here

Why is it important to mention that you're white?

>complains about white ass business men
>”hurr sure y u habe to say ur white”

Racist...

(You)

... :'(

I can rewind vinyl fater than tape
