So I picked this up on a whim and loved it. Any other shows like this?
I recently finished stargate SG-1 marathon and I'm reluctant about starting atlantis now (if at all) especially that I'd prefer something more in the vein of the expanse
So I picked this up on a whim and loved it. Any other shows like this?
yeah
bump
nobody watched this?
Atlantis really isnt worth the watch. SGU is pretty awful too, but tolerable because Robert Carlyle carries the show.
BSG is probably the closest you're going to get. Its got similar political themes to The Expanse, but feels very different. Definitely worth watching.
The Expanse is super entertaining and I have no idea why. Pretty excited about season 2.
BSG is new wave christian theology masquerading as sci-fi. awful
yeah the expanse reminds me greatly of the culture series of books by Ian M Banks and it's good by it's own
I already watched BSG, more or less liked it apart from the destiny magic spiritualism stuff, I like how the expanse, so far at least, is much more tech driven
God tier world building. I can't wait for interplanetary war
this
this is probably because it's based on a written work but I like how there is not a scene that doesn't contribute to some future development like that water bootlegger kid, his uncle and how that played into rocy getting checked by a patrol
no weakness
didn't watch it, just because there was no comfy way to do it.
Hell it wouldn't even let me watch the "free" pilot because I'm not murrican.
The book was nice though.
really? It's really worth a watch though.
I didn't know this show existed until the day I picked it at random more or less from a private torrent tracker suggestions.
Now that I'm hooked I was thinking about picking up the books sometime
how far does season 1 go anyways? the entire 1st book?
No, you tard, it was written by Mormons
It's on netflix in the UK
it ends just after Holden gets irradiated on Eros after they found Julies contaminated body
wait so there's still like 2/3 of the book missing, right?
Shit, I loved when the asteroid starts fucking physics and just leaves. That was so effective, because so much time was spent establishing the spacecraft rules beforehand.
how the hell would I know m8, I haven't read the book yet
it's been like 2 years since I read the book too, so I don't really remember how much it's actually.
exactly
more like 1/2. also avasarala isn't really in the books until the second one
>avasarala
so that's how the sentient blue parasitic goo is going to be called? I wasn't really surprised with that cliffhanger
bump, I'd like to get some actual recommendation
please guys
killjoys
dark matter
try dark matter
wait till season 4 :^)
Since netflix picked it up will there be swearing from season 2 onwards?
Netflix picked up international distribution rights. Nothing about the production of the show will change.
killjoys looks really cheesy, which isn't bad but I'm not into that right now
I'll try dark matter first
oh, so it will still get canceled right before it gets good like every scyfy show?
Count on it. I'd be shocked if it made it past season 2. Season 1 outperformed so they cut all advertising for season 2 so there's essentially no chance of numbers improving.
>tfw no belter gf
;_;
>outperformed
*Underperformed
>they cut all advertising for season 2
god damn faggots
G E N I U S
BSG
Farscape
Bablyon 5
Andromeda
Earth Final Conflict
Space: Above and Beyond
Lexx
Falling Skies
Defiance
I think it's also the most expensive show Syfy has ever produced aside from BSG so it'll need to pull in some mad numbers to make a profit.
>it would have been nice to see an ocean on Mars
>tfw no qt spock gf
rip Lopez
a real hero
>Cast Adam Jensen's fucking VA as a character
>Other characters keep telling him to shut up whenever he said anything.
This was such a crime.
well shit I missed than completely since I haven't played any of the dude sex games
>missing out in some of the greatest vidya.
It even has kino tier plots.
Anyone else looking forward to some sweet sweet Mars scenes?
I'm kind of in love with the planet Mars so I sure as heck am.
