I still wanna know who signed the SG.

how to prevent picking hand fatigue on bass? i can't go through an entire show this way

How many times should I wrap my strings around my guitar's twisty poles? Should I post this in Sup Forums instead? (Just an example.)

example of what? your post is not clear

Is Black Limba a good tone wood?

>post is not clear
There would be more guitar-related posts in Sup Forums without this general, I think.

yes because they wouldnt be in /gg/ but in Sup Forums. whats the point?

How do you guys go about counting quintuplets?
The Sheet music has quintuplets played over 2 eighth notes.

I know how it breaks down mathematically. Each Quintuplet gets 20% of the beat which means the second 8th note falls directly between the start of the 3rd tuplet and the 4th tuplet.

I just for the life of me can't find the "feel" of it though.

I'm struggling with triplets on spanish romance because the notes change before the beat ends and it's a little confusing.

>One and uh two and uh three and uh.

>being a tonewoodist
floor catalog axes are just for show

Is there anything more boring than the percussive guitar scene?

you asked this on /gg/ in the past didnt you
i told you how already

Shit like Andy Mckee and Kaki King does nothing for me.

at least theyre getting money and fame. what are you getting with guitar?

@76765872
>makes the point then asks what the point is

I don't care about money beyond having what I need and I don't give two shits about fame.

thats not a point redditposter
there would be no more posts

my tendons are hurting and fucking jumping off the back of my hand as i pluck the strings

No you didn't you fucking pleb, I've not been here for months.
I don't have a way to sound it out.
Triplets are counted by literally saying "Trip-le-et"
The three syllables are able to give us a very good approximation of dividing the beat by 3.

ok this is how you do it
get the metronome playing
play on the beat (or do it mentally if it's easier)
play 2 notes per beat
play 3
play 4
figure 5 notes within the beat
try to play 5
play 5

@76765984
>there would be no more posts
We've gone off on a tangent. Let's start again.
>Does anybody care about these threads anymore?
Yes, I do.

keep talking to yourself, i dont care

>what are you getting with guitar?

Personal enjoyment and expression on depressing lonely nights before I have to get up for work at 5AM

Incredible advice user.
Now I want you to spread 5 notes over two beats(2 eighth notes).
It's extremely easy to play a sixteenth-note Quintuplet all in one quarter beat, but give it a steady 8th note bassline to play at the same time and you have to subdivide in weird ways. It creates something like a hemiola(3:2 while this is 5:2).

Having some syllables to to say while counting them would be more helpful than "Just play them".

Use quarter notes in groups of 5. Tap your foot to encompass all 5 notes. When you have it, do it without the guiding quarters. Say hippopotamus if you want... Accent 1-3-5 or 2-4, etc. for more fun.

Use lighter strings and play with lower action.
I use 40-95 but you can go lower.

I have 5 grand burning a hole in my pocket. What guitar should I get?

im using 40s already and low action
doesnt low action only help the fretting hand? my fretting hand is hurting just a bit.

like this?
maybe try doing 5 notes on one beat then double the tempo so its 2 beats. then youve learned it

>be me
>walk into guitar store
>can buy any guitar
>nothing jumps out at me
>leave empty handed

I could use some suggestions too.

D28 if you really want to spend some dough.

If you want an electric, just buy something that looks and feels nice at a real guitar shop, not GC or anywhere online.

a nice big beautiful J200

martins are over rated

Martins are overrated as budget guitars. The meat and potatoes models that they are famous for are mindblowingly worthwhile investments for anybody with a good income and a passion for playing. They aren't about the looks.

I play an $800 Guild though so I can't really speak from much experience.

Yeah that's the mathematic division of it.
Pain in the ass.

>Having some syllables to to say while counting them would be more helpful than "Just play them".
It really doesn't solve anything. You can assign any group of syllables you want to it, it's not going to fix the weirdness of two eighth notes splitting it up oddly. Your best bet is making a 5 over 2 pattern in a midi editor and just listen to it slowly a while to get a feel for how they intersect

>still in the guitar phase
step up get in the amp phase for god sake

Fuzzes sound best run into an overdriven amp or an overdrive pedal.

youtube.com/watch?v=opmg6lK8FkY

>amps

Modellers are the future

You should get like 30 guitars from Rondo Music.

>Modellers are the future
more like modellers are a long shot in the future
these still dont model a lot of frequencies and dinamics.

its like rewinding a youtube video

not a pain just do it on 1 beat like you already can do and double the bpm so its 2 beats

cant you be in both? fucking pleb

Would you rather a guitar with or without a Floyd Rose?

For amp, I'm thinking Micro Terror (possibly Dark). Orange sounds fuller than the comparable Vox.

If it's going to come with a trem, then yeah, a floyd.
If I can it be fixed, then fixed bridge.

Without. It's a pain in the ass and a guitar with a Strat-style trem can be set up to stay in tune just fine. Jeff Beck can wank on his Strat for the entirety of a two hour show without it going out of tune. You just need to ensure there's adequate tension on the trem and lubricate all the non-rolling friction points adequately; self-lubricating or roller nuts/saddles/string guides make the bulk of the manual lubrication unnecessary.

i hate them these sound too muffled. Orange sound is just a vox with a fuzz so original these guys are,
and dont forget the gimicky orange tolex.

i like FR but guys who start on fixed bridge axes cant handle the floting trems at all.

Don't do this. It doesn't do anything but make it hard to get the strings off again.

Imo if a guitar has a strat trem then it's just fine that way, but a FR type is handy. Since the strings are locked at both ends, their length and tension is constant (if no changes in temperature) so the tuning is super stable, not talking about tricks, just like day to day. And if the weather changes or whatever, the fine tuners are quicker to bring it in tune.
Also, once you get used to floating bridges, setting them up, tuning, maintenance and so on is not a problem and quite easy.
It also solves a few issues I have with the strat trem (though I like them).
First, strings don't sit, they are locked, which for a trem is important imo.
Saddles are comfy, they don't have screws which poke and rip your skin.
Depends on the model, but the trem arm is just way better.
Cons: looks ugly as shit in anything else but a super strat or pointy guitar.
HUGE
Expensive parts in case you need to replace or fix any part of it (though they tend to last forever).

oranges, vox, marshalls, fenders, they all have a unique, characteristic sound

not orange they basically copied AC 30 sound plus a fuzz

And literally everybody copied Fender.

What's your point?

post some guitar Fedoras

and fender copy a lot of designs from standel fucking copycats.

>mfw have to make a 1,5 minute guitar solo for a song recording
ive been delaying this for an year now
i figured ill record multiple improvised takes then put the best parts together on the daw (paying attention to the structure of course) and then record that
i wish i had done this before, when i was more hyped with it and the lead ideas were clearer on my mind

thats right, one year. the project was started on the next week, of the past year

>1.5 minute guitar solo
Are you going to post it here, cause I really hope you don't.

I like my guitars like I like my cigar humidors, made of mahogany m'lady.

yes i really am
and i'll spam it here for weeks when its finished

i like my guitars like i like my women. with a penis

we know Samuel

What would you guys consider requirements for an exceptional guitar player?

God dammit

That bridge is so close to the pick up, that can't be the right intonation, right?

They know how to play their instrument.

They don't post on /gg/.

>pickups affect intonation
here we go...

...

>that reading comprehension
here we go...

I like my tone like i like my women big fat and dark

Or this time not for ants.

No, you stupid fuck, I have an LP body guitar with gibson scale and the bridge is further from the pick up. So unless that guitar has a shorter scale, I don't see how the intonation can be right with the bridge that close to the pick up, as in, shorter than the respective scale length of the neck.

someone is a drummer

That is obviously not a Les Paul, retard.

>he puts stickers on his instruments

Obviously fucking not you imbecile, I'm simply comparing my experience with their shared scale length of 24.75 in.

I thought about the same. I can't be right.

youtube.com/watch?v=7YvdeuKadgw

Covers that are better than the original ones

drums isnt a musical instrument bc they dont have notes

Not that it's a bad cover, but I hate it when they don't mention in the title that it's a cover. If the thumbnail isn't obvious, it makes me think it's a playthrough by the original artist or something like that.

>He doesn't know how to tune drums

im not a fucking kid im a grown up so i personalize my instruments by changing their parts not by putting hello kitty stickers on it

>he doesn't personalize and make his instrument his own by putting stickers on it

>produces sound
>no notes

You're comparing apples and oranges. Do you expect a car and a bicycle to be the same because they both have wheels? You might be surprused to hear this, but a lot of guitars that aren't gibsons use the 24.75 scale as well, do you expect them to be the same? Even the ones with single coils? Can you imagine how bad the intonation must be with single coils? Yoi probably can, actually, because you're an idiot.

...

have you ever heard of a drum key?

isnt the discussion about ''''vox'''es and oranges

>needs stickers to call guitar his own

the drums' pitches and peak frequencies dont work as musical notes

Well he can't say he bought it with his own money

haha cuck spotted there

Wrong.

have you ever played a timpani? There's multiple of them ranging high to low. literally different notes with each drum.

you know those things on a drum kit you bang on? called tom-toms? same thing can apply

this, when you look at sheet music for drums you won't see anything indicate notes, key signatures, accidentals, etc. i would imagine most drummers have never actually seen sheet music though.

What's a good fuzz pedal for bass?
