What's your favourite use of music in film? Ideally music that's not part of the score/was composed for the film but existed independent of the film in question

Great use of what is possibly my favourite song of the entire 70s
As soon as I hear Scott's voice in any film its automatically a killer soundtrack

Silence.
This.
*tips*
Tarantino movies have good soundtracks. I'm thinking Kill Bill and Ennio Morecone
this fucking scene
here's one of my favorite songs from any movie:
same here. Also 'House of The Rising Sun' in Casino.

my fav too
I think this is my favorite of all time scene. Image + music is perfect.
Quite overused by amateurs, but the end of My dinner with Andre was beautiful.

that movie is so fucking bad, zombie probably tought it was deep and clever.
Malick is GOAT. The Funeral Canticles for the opening of Tree of Life is top-tier. Then you've got all the other stuff, like the Berlioz, Bach, Smetana, Mozart and Preisner
Knight of Cups is fucking 10/10 in sound design alone and the songs picked for the film are great.
>that fucking Burial in the club.
Dick diamondsssssss
Agreed (hence why the thread pic is from New World)
After hearing the Rheingold prelude on numerous occasions (with its unchanging gargantuan wall of sound) Malick then uses the entry to Valhalla and the Valhalla leitmotif comes in as Pocahontas abandons the unchanging way of her life for this other "new world". Incredible stuff.
Every song in Dazed and Confused.
I'll give a nod to Guardians of the Galaxy and Forrest Gump...not too shabby.
Came here to post this

>realistic silencer sound
