French Foreign Legion

Just returned to Ireland from 5 years as a legionarie, AMA

Do you have a cough, headache, muscle pains?

>Just returned to Ireland

Nobody goes back to the Republic.

The thread died on arrival.

I have a cough, never had a headache

OI IT'S 3 BONG PAST YOUR BEDTIME, INNIT?

how was your deployment to africa like?

You might be infected, most Legos get it. I would take some aspirin and get a nice bit o lemon whiskey and hot water into yourself. Light a fire get a good book, and tuck in proper nice like.

Can you tell us all the countries you went to, and if you ever got to bang any foreign girls?

Africa? Any tales to give us chills/make us glad we're safe at home in the basement?

Hot

How many legoniars joined ISIS?

Is diversity strength?

Why join the frogs desu? did you fall for the legion memes or something?
Not trying to be a dick, genuinely curious why a potato would join an french auxiliary force in the first place, assuming this isnt shitposting

Spent most my time in the central african republic
So to answer your question no they fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down

Joined because my own military wouldn't accept me due to eye sight

How was the training and the people there like?

No, the language barriers get in the way

Thanks for the response, I feel you, yeah, they look like chimps, huh? Haha.

Training was intense because I didnt speak french. Over all the training was tiring as expected but nothing out of the ordinary. Watch Bear Grylls escape to the legion, it shows him going through the training so you can get a better understanding. Mostly friendly and good fun, the Russians kept to them selves but everyone else mixed well

Nada

FAMAS?

is OP a faggot?

Yep, famas and the pa mac 50, enjoyable toys overall

Not anymore

It's barely just gone one bong to midnight m8y

Thank you kindly.

In your five years there how frequently did you see combat?

grats!

Just write a simple sentence in French so I can see If you're full of shit.
Anyone that goes 5 years into the FFL is fluent in French by the end of it, and there's no mental gymnastic that can save you from that. So go ahead and write something.

this

It came and went, frankly i craved it but it was scarce. When it did come though, there was times that I had thought would be my last

Frogman gets it. Go on OP.

How did everyone react to eachother in training?how did all those different language speakers come together, did they just stay in their own language groups or did they intermingle?

Je me pelle, Paul.

Easy peasy frogman.

je suis pomme de terre

Si vous le souhaitez, vous baiser

le plaisir d'être cummed intérieur

Yea that's what I thought

We were encouraged to but it was hard. The teambuilding helped and knowing that one day they could save your life really encouraged us to integrate

I went from not speaking a word of french to learning with eurofags and africans, not easy bud

Did you shoot any one?

Do you get a pension for the rest of your life or do you need to say 15 years to get that?

Hello, wow a legionare.

I am thinking about singin up if I don't do well in bar exams...

How is the crowd there? I am kinda afraid of a stigma "foreign fighters". can you trust a guy or not when you are in deep shit?

How was the deployment in Africa, how much time did you spend there? Any dangerous activities? What kind of regiment you are on?

Also medical examinations, how strict they are?

I have a genetic thing, that my left eye is slightly lower than right, assymetrical, but I don't have any vision problems(in school literally scored best result in vision test) whats so ever, its not even noticable in real life, only if you really focus real hard.

Shot at but no confirmed kills, No pension after five years just a thank you and citizenship if you want

Were you supposed to use the second "vous"?
I guess it was supposed to be "If you wish, WE kiss".
Not "If you wish, YOU kiss".
Pfft, what do I know, the last French lesson I had was in 2010. I could be wrong.

...

Write some nice greentext stories about chimp slaying and drunk soldiers

How old were you when you joined?

Évidemment que tu te les pelles là haut ami mongolien.

Ive seen footages of the legeionaires, whats the craziest Thing you did? What would you rate it? Can it be recommended?

Ill just answer you questions on medicals etc because ive answered the rest
Exams are not a bother once you're mentally 'there'
Medicals are strict but unless you have a terminal illness you should do fine
Also make sure your physically ready if you plan on going because thats what they test first and if you fail you leave that minute, no time waisted

ITT OP comes home from the pub and decides to shitpost.

Go fucking cleanse Naas and Newbridge of the niggers if you want to fight.

Apologies in advance for the shitload of questions, I'm really interested in the FFL and have been playing with the idea of joining for years now.

What is the maximum age at which you can still join?

Are the entry requirements high? Can you name some?

Is it true that you can change your legal identity after fulfilling the service?

Is 5 years the minimum duration of serving?

What made you join?

Did you get along with your fellow legionnaires?

Is it true that a lot of them are criminals?

Did you get to go back to Ireland to visit family or something, once in a while?

Where were you stationed? One of the African locations?

Where did you first enlist? Name a few places where you first trained. What regiment did you join? Did you specialise?

>Watch Bear Grylls escape to the legion, it shows him going through the training so you can get a better understanding.
It's not 1960 anymore.

I love google translate sometimes.

Do you consider the ffl comparable to any certain US military force?
Is there chaplaincy in the ffl and is it pluralist?

>never had a headache

lucky faggot shit sucks

Also bro explain me this.

Whats the period of time between you enter there and become official legionare?

I mean what if you change your mind in like fourth week, you know what I am saying, when is the last day, last point of no return.

Also how tough is to get to sniper regiment?

I thought Sup Forums didn't like France yet they want to join the FFL and have a FAMAS.

First few questions are on their website im sure
I joined because my eyes are too bad for the irish army
Yes, even the blacks
Not as many as everyone thinks, they've filtered through the people there for the wrong reasons
My family shunned me for my decision so no
Chad and central african republic

Dat butt

Before going just know if you're going to stick it out
I never tried

How did you deal with the eyesight issue?
-4 here btw.

Thanks a lot for your answers and you're right, many answers are to be found online, I just wanted to kno for sure, I turn 25 in july and I believe you can't be older than that to join.

Shame your family shunned you, that must have been harsh. Do you get furlough/vacation or something, though?

Also is it worth it brah? I mean yeah in those 5 years you train like a soldier, see Africa, I mean cool shit whole lot different than 9-5 regular Joe's life.

But what after first 5 y contract? Do you get any "connections" to some other military or security branches, PMC-s?

Also how much do you earn per month? I assume you rack some cash, since the whole thing is free food beds?

Im minus 6, I didnt have to deal with it for ffl because they're relaxed on eye sight but im getting laser eye to correct them

what was your crime? and why didnt you finish your timw there?

was it fun to sing some Schutzstaffel songs?

Did you wear glasses though?

10/10 would recommend
I have a connection with a private security organisation in Israel but thats not through anyone in the legion
Pay is shitty but its really the experience that I wanted

Yes

Is there trust and respect among the different language groups?

Any stigma towards americans?

Not a criminal and I did, i did 5 year stay, I didnt see a future there

Fucking traitorous cuck fightin for another country

was it worth it for you?

I never came across one but most of the stigma is directed towards the brits

Oh, also last question; was it an issue? When you were in combs did it affect anything?
Asking cause I'm not planning to die in my sleep.

Thank you for your service legionnaire. FRA FRA FRA

*combat

I was in the selection process to become an officer in ireland but my eye sight prevented, I left for the legion as a last resort

So basicly its all about experience?

Kinda bad, I thought you could build some actual career if you are good.

Are most guys just regular infantry grunts? Or is it possible to become IDK sniper, tank driver, ATGM operator bla bla.

What do most people do after 5 years?

The one I had when I serve last year

100%

Only downside is having to clean them

Thank you for having me, your people seem to hate the legion

how much of a shithole is africa? did many of your fellow soldiers die?

That butt on that FAMAS is pure sex.
10/10 would stick my dick in the chamber from behind.

Former Marine and then PMC here, have been considering the legion but to be honest from the legionnaires I have talked to and what I have seen the training and how they operate is extremely sub-par.

How did the former US Military folks in your unit think of the Legion?

The Marines I have talked to about it said they enjoyed it because of what it is but the reality of the fighting prowess of the Legion and their training is far different from the legend; the exception MAYBE being the 2nd REP.

Currently on a break from war-ing going back to school full-time but considering either returning to PMCing since I've gotten multiple emails about returning with Triple Canopy or joining Patriot Group since my old boss helps run them now and the change-over in Iraq contracts is happening now so they are trying to man-up, or going into a maritime career, or joining the Legion.

>mfw this nigga can't even speak french and he claims to be a legionnaire

Repasse quand t'aura amélioré ton français mon vieux. Il y a des professeurs d'anglais qui parlent un meilleur coréen que tu ne parles français alors qu'ils ne prennent même pas de leçons.

But hey maybe you were last in your class and they don't give a fuck anymore who knows

For me I held experience as more valuable
You can but unless you're french youll never be an officer
Be what you want if you are able
Most people leave but the people who are there for serious reasons stay

Thanks a mil, wish you well.

À quel niveau at-il besoin d'améliorer ?

boxers or briefs?

Did you know that famas is more heavier than an AK?
I didn't know because it's the only gun I've ever shoot and it didn't seem very heavy at all but after checking some infos online and comparing to others assault rifles, the FAMAS is the heaviest.
It's also outdated, the army want a new gun.

>Hipster style boxers = top-tier.
Prove me wrong.

I am not looking to become a officier in FFL, i am just curious if other PMC companies value the experience you spent in FFL.

Can you actually start a career after dong like 2 contracts after FFL somewhere abroad?

Should you do it if you have a college degree?

Reminds me of the L89A2 (semi-auto L85A2) I handled years ago in the cadets. The first proper rifle I trained with. I struggled back the since I was short at the time. When I visited the US, I used the M4 for the first time. I nearly threw that thing up because I thought it was heavier. Still prefer the L89 though due to ergonomics. I need to try the FAMAS my man.

Would you recommend it over the Britbong army?

Was it very "hardcore", and was there much camaraderie and redpilledness, or were you alongside 3rd-world citizenship-seekers in a government program?

Got any cool pics of armoured vehicle, rifles, african countryside, things like that?

Were your famas rifles falling apart due to old age like most of them are?
