We have a serious content quality issue on Sup Forums and only you can fix it.
Or troubles run with these 2 things: 1. Janitors 2. Generals
We can't get rid of the autistic reddit janitors right now in our dilapidated state, so we must combat generals.
HERE IS WHY SHITTY GENERALS DESTROY QUALITY: Reddit losers who post boring, unengaging content could never survive in pre-2013 Sup Forums because thier unimaginitive threads could not get replies. General threads allow redditors a guaranteed audience for all thier chatroom circlejerk bullshit. Now generals flood the catalog, filled with people who stated browsing in 2015. Because (You)'s can be obtained effortlessly in chatroom clique generals, there is no 'invisible hand' forcing good sports content. The Sup Forums meme economy is at a grinding hault right now. Everyone is isolated in generals, and our content creators are alienated.
WHAT CAN WE DO?: We cannot just delete generals because that is overmodding, and /spg/ could likely cripple this slowing board.
What can we do to improve content outside of generals, increase sports threads outside of generals, increase gamethread prominence, and save Sup Forums?

>le general's boogeyman xD xD xDDDDDD
Jack Rodriguez
Excellent rebuttal, I now concede that general threads are the greatest thing to ever happen to Sup Forums.
Michael Gutierrez
mandatory anime posting will improve the board
Joseph Anderson
meta is beta
Grayson Baker
This is a good start, but I would modify this idea by doing the complete opposite.

How to improve Sup Forums: Ban americans
Jaxson Thompson
Once in a while when someone posts a thread like this at Sup Forums, the mods over there literally delete it after a few minutes. Even when there's legit criticism. In fact they laugh about this at IRC.
Carson Perez
terrible idea great idea
Cooper King
shut up faggot
Caleb Baker
ban soccer, except when referencing women's competition. It's a women's sport. When men play it, it ceases to be a sport, it's more of a sport-theatre, with rolling around on the grass wincing in faux pain being the #1 skillset.
Owen Powell
Sup Forums happy hour.
Every day at the same time, I'm going to post a new, hopefully engaging sports topic outside of a general thread. If it can make Sup Forums 1% better, then it is worth it.
Best case scenario is that it catches on and at a certain hour every day, the board gets flooded with sports threads that push shit generals back. People look forward to the hour and content creation explodes.
I'm so sick of this board being shit, bros. I just want to have fun again.
Justin Flores
Just let the board be how it used to be. Off-topic power rankings, hip hop discussions, euro vs. america threads.
Sup Forums and Sup Forums in general is an overly-moderated pile of shit these days. I rarely come here anymore due to how bad it is.
Caleb Hernandez
my only ACTUAL complain is that posts cooldowns are too long
LOWER IT TOO 30 SEC OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT
Gabriel Clark
this. before the euros in 2012 Sup Forums was comfortably the best board on here. now it's this really weird, diluted shit. fuck the janitors and fuck those retards posting generals every day.
Jacob Gray
Sup Forums used to be the top content producer on Sup Forums honestly. shit like "leave x to me" and >mfw started on Sup Forums.
We'll never get back to that when we let the board be a bunch of shitty generals baka
Andrew Lopez
fuck off faggot
Landon Flores
This is not an official thread. anyway, fuck /heem/ most cancerous general far and away. they can have a weekly thread while competitive events are actually taking place or fuck off to /asp/ I somehow found /raw/ less irritating.
Benjamin Morales
I would support the return of a "sports-bar" culture - whereby a more lenient stance regarding moderation is taken during the offseason. Enforcing a strict 24/7 stance when little to no activity is occurring for particular sport seems rather inefficient.
Jordan Martin
stop being such a bitch
why do amerifats like to complain so fucking much?
Ayden Adams
Why are you so mad?
Leo Rivera
Mandatory perro caca threads,(at least 5)

[Expand Generals] at the top of the page. If you don't click it, you don't see the generals. Problem solved.
Jonathan Bennett
>tfw was here for the glory days of Sup Forums in 2011 >tfw Sup Forums will never be that good again
Joshua James
split the board, all the autists and tripfags go to /spg/ - sports generals, then people who want a fun board stay on Sup Forums
just go on Sup Forums
Henry Wood
allow casual racism, (yes >poo in loo is saying this)
it scares the redditors and 12 year olds away
Samuel Myers
Generals are a symptom of the structural problems that have crushed this board.
The post cool off timer has destroyed the game thread, the original pillar of Sup Forums. No board is affected more by an increase in the timer. It used to be even regular season games could get multiple threads. Now most teams struggle to fill up a single thread. With the increased post cooldown timer, you have to be more careful with your posts or risk having to wait a full minute before reacting to some major game event. Cooldown timer has also stopped people from posting rapidly in multiple threads, instead it is now easier to just post in a couple generals.
The other major thing that has caused people to migrate to generals is the catalog. Now that everyone can easily see every thread at once, it is all to easy to just go to whatever thread is most active and will maximize (you)s. The logical conclusion is what we see happening in most boards: a single thread for any tangentially related topic.
You have to either outlaw generals which requires more moderation, or remove some of the above changes if you want the old Sup Forums back.
Blake Diaz
Eliminate tripcodes. That'll cut down on a lot of the autistic chat-thread-posting in generals.
Nathaniel Murphy
30 second post timer is essential to Sup Forums, but can we ever convince Hiro the jew since that's one of the cuckold pass features?
