Getting my first turntable for Christmas

Getting my first turntable for Christmas.
Is there such a thing as /vinylcore/?
So far know I'll be getting this, need some more ideas

>inb4 listening to a t shirt

you should get the Loveless re-presses that are coming in January

I dunno how well fabric will sound on a record player :/

in all honesty though it's not that difficult. Just get whatever you like and avoid whatever you don't. Vinyl is too damn expensive to start buying shit just because it's Sup Forums-core or some 50 year old told you EVERYONE needs these 60s rock records in their collection or some 16 year old tells you EVERYONE needs these bland indie rock records in their collection. If you like the music, buy it. Maybe do some research into which pressings are the highest quality while still being in your price range, but don't let anyone tell you there's any such thing as /vinylcore/

This.
Get what you like

go to thrift stores and yard sales, half the stuff you want will be there for so much less money. if there is a core, it's that you don't go to the mall and buy repressed bullshit and instead actually find a real record that came from the time it was released, then it will sound the way it was meant to

Make sure you buy all new represses of Pink Floyd albums.

Yeah I know, I've heard some albums were "meant" to be listened to on vinyl though and I was thinking if I could see some of them I'd see iof any of them appealed.
Also thinking Stratosphere by Duster, that seemsd like it would be a comfy vinyl listen.

Yeah I'll definitely try some charity shops etc, however as far as I know where i am in northern England there isn't a very big thrift/second hand scene.

Stratosphere is a $100+ record, my man.

Fug
Is it likely to get represed at any point do you know?

Really just get what you like man. Unless you're trying to just blow money making a """"""""collection"""""""" that you don't really care about, you'll just end up wasting money on something that you'll listen to on vinyl once when it comes in the mail and then it'll sit on your shelf. That's at least what happened to me when I started buying records, I bought a lot of shit because it was what Sup Forums was into at the time and I """"""""""""liked it at the time"""""""""""" but never touched it after the first inaugurational listen.

Also the whole "some albums were 'meant' to be listened to on vinyl" thing is really just dumb reddit shit unless it's some gay xD so random Jack White shit or something which frankly is just as reddit.

only for posers

buy what you love, and maybe take a chance on some shitty $5 random stuff from time to time, and you'll come across a few gems guaranteed.

i'm a sucker for anything with a cool cover.

Just get what you like. Pay attention to bargain bins because you can get some really good deals in there. Plenty of great jazz, rock and roll, classical for a couple of quid.

any album that I truly like, I buy on vinyl. even if I only listen to the digital download. it's worth it for the artwork and to support artists.

as an artist, believe me, you are supporting the label. digital streaming is a better way to support the artist

dude you're listening to a t shirt

>it's worth it for the artwork and to support artists
That's the main reason I buy vinyl. I do want to support artists but I'm not going to buy digital music on itunes or something.

no shit I'm supporting the label. the label that helps the artists pay for studio time and touring and promotion.

Gotta buy the record directly from the band.

Everything gets repressed now. It will probably be a remastered version with bonus tracks

>artist
>wanting to make money
It's art. It's not for money
