I used to be that kind of person that hated electronic, i didnt get it, thought it was cold and lifeless, etc. but lately i started listening to aphex twin while i play vidya and its actually the titties. I like the frantic pace and the robotic consistency of it for gaming, so im looking for more shit that is in that ballpark. Preferably full albums and it doesnt have to sounds exactly like aphex, just give me the goods
Electronic music finally clicked for me, need recs

>lapasucks
>recommends one of the most overrated producers in the game
ok
if you like the frantic pace check out early Squarepusher
wow that's great.
I need to dig deeper in his discography. I've only gotten his bandcamp releases.. so i'm missing most EPs and Cenny Crush
pls gb2 'future-garage/post-dubstep' quarantine zone
lone - galaxy garden also rather frentic
if you want sound engineerig wankery check out reso - tangram
Kettel is great. I recommend Volleyed Iron. Great album.
Yasume too. More glitch based ambient electronic though
youtube.com
twin peaks inspired glitch ambient? interesting
Check out Burial - Untrue
Burial's later releases are also amazing.
...
Future Sounds of London
...
...
this is a very good list except i'd have left out violator, exit planet dust and leftism cause they're lame as fuck.
it also has almost all the artificial intelligence albums by warp but somehow missed the best one (pic related)
list is dogshit HMV electronica 90s CD section with all the well-known garbage
justice - justice
boards of canada - music has the right to children kraftwerk - the man machine, autobahn, computer love
blank banshee - blank banshee 0, mega

Basic Channel - Phylyps Trak
Hell yeah I love that album.
I used to listen to it all the time.
>only listens to full albums
Yeah, Devious Methods is quite overlooked. It's hands down in my top 5 favorite albums
>1:50 ( kills me every time )
youtube.com
true, but those are good albums.
not all well known stuff is shit, you know. some things are popular because they're actually good.
Just do the classic aphex/boc/autechre axis for a while. more than enough material in there to keep you occupied for a while and open your mind to different sounds
here's an autechre playlist
Dael from Tri Repetae youtube.com
Tilapia from Cichlisuite youtube.com
Drane2 from LP5 youtube.com
Cap.IV from Gantz Graf youtube.com
recks on from Exai youtube.com
hope you like it friendo
>1992: electronic music begins
jeez i know and saying that here 1000 times daily on this board doesn't change that, yes, while many of those are popular and interesting they are also the reason why some hate this genre because prodigy sucks unless you're stuck in the 90's and massive attack is something else entirely other than "bleep" so your chart really makes the genre a lot less interesting than it is and aphex listeners can handle weirder shit. fucking fat boy slim, c'mon
nice tombjörk
>prodigy sucks unless you're stuck in the 90's
i agree completely
>massive attack is something else entirely other than "bleep"
they are considered "trip hop" which makes me vomit, but so does portishead also on that list
>your chart
I didn't make that sweetie
>aphex listeners can handle weirder shit
not necessarily
>fucking fat boy slim, c'mon
yeah that slipped by me, music for wankers.
What's that kind of music called where it's all electronic synths and kinda dance/hiphop beats like emotional Super Nintendo? Yeah, that shit. What is it called?
chiptune?
Not quite? Maybe? What I'm thinking of, It's kind of ethereal, chill, has a nostalgic feeling. Sad Super Nintendo to a beat. Got any recommendations?
Chillwave?
If you're new you should just stick with the standard warp artists for now as some user also said, but theres plenty of other good shit you'll find too. have fun.

Happy to hear it, user!
Here are a few suggestions:
Underworld-Second Toughest in the Infants
Autechre-Amber
Orbital-Orbital 2 (it sounds like you'll really like this one)
Kraftwerk-The Man Machine
DJ Shadow-Endtroducing
Like another user said, you'll probably dig early Squarepusher. Squarepusher put on the best live show I've ever been to, but tbqh I'm not as crazy about his work. Feed Me Weird Things is great though so try that for a harsher mood.
One of my favorite things about electronic music in general is how the elements of a well-produced track slowly and perceptibly come in and out, especially in longer tracks, 7+ minute tracks. In this respect of how fairly simple elements come in and out, electronic music is very much like jazz. Squarepusher himself mixes explicitly jazz sensibilities into his stuff.
That awesome Squarepusher show I just described?
He did two encores - the first track off Big Loada, and finally, the second track - what you just posted - to close the evening out. the room was entranced. God that was a good show.
somatic responses are underrated as fuck, they put out so much stuff
>lately i started listening to aphex twin
Are you 12?
>while i play vidya
You're 12, aren't you?
>its actually the titties
You're definitely 12.
>just give me the goods
Get spoonfed somewhere else, faggot. Lurk more and/or kill yourself.
