I just fucking love how effortless and edgy this shitty movie is. No homo, though.
Natural Born Killers was just unfunny and try hard in comparison.
Roger Ebert completely missed the point when he gave it a zero star review.

Holy shit brother... This sucks to shit farting arses. Zero starts is too generous to this flick.
Look at this faggot who agrees with Roger Ebert! Seriously, I think it takes 'so bad it's good' to the next level.
I know it's shit, but it just feels like the 90's.
Purified concentrated 90's Zeitgeist extract.
Looks like a piece of shite indeed
I truly wonder if I'd prefer being the only special snowflake to truly love that movie, or if I'd rather share the awkwardness.
If you prefer the 70's, there is this.
And this masterpiece from the 60's.
(Interdastingly, Mr Ebert seemed to like this one...)
kek, no one gives a shit
SIX DOLLA AND SIXTY SIX CENT
I remember seeing this maybe 20 years ago as a teenager, on late night Channel 4 after coming home drunk and high as fuck from a mate's house. Curled up in bed with parents asleep in the next room, it might be the first time I really enjoyed a film purely for how trashy and edgy it was. I might have had a little wank to one of the sex scenes, I don't remember, but I was fond of the movie as a random guilty pleasure anyway.
I'd completely forgotten it existed until your thread OP, thanks for the nostalgia trip. I'll try to think of some similar 90s stuff to contribute to your thread.
I love you

Movie-map gives this one, that I haven't seen but is same director, 1996, and has a similar style. I reckon I'll save this until I'm off the wagon:
Nowhere (1996)

A few more cult 90s films I remember seeing back in the day and thinking they stood out as weird, edgy or trashy - nothing as obscure as The Doom Generation but you might find something nostalgic:
Kids (1995)

Nightbreed (1990)

I got a better one
he only liked it because Russ Meyer was a friend of his, Ebert even wrote a movie for him
pic related with always encapsulate the 90s to me
British 90s culture in a nutshell:
Human Traffic (1999)

>two lane black-top
>clearly only occupies one lane in the photo
TERRIBLE
what i find strange is for Ebert to like Russ Meyer's bizarro boobs extrvaganza in the 60's, but not the overstylized sexy dumbness of Araki in the 90's.
it feels like double standard, no?
Kek, I saw it on Channel 4 as a teenager too. I used to stay up late and watch pretty much whatever was on there, pretty much started my education in foreign and cult films. I remember being pretty skeeved out by the cum eating.
Doom Generation is pretty cool. I also agree that it's way better than Natural Born Killers.
Mysterious Skin is the best Araki movie, though
Not really. He likes strong women with big boobs. Teenage fags, not so much
It comes from not being gay, probably
Remember these degenerates?
When this show was on I used to sneak downstairs and get my homemade porn compilation tape ready to record any naked lady bodies that might come up.
i always had a crush on these two lesbians in their magical flying car (i wish they had a threesome with young Brad Pitt, desu)
>gay
it's a 'heterosexual movie by greg araki', it's written at the beginning.
that was the only movie that ever made me question my sexuality, though
that's one film, you said Araki in general
also Rose McGowan getting her tits out is nothing surprising or special
quality post
what i meant is zero star is pretty harsh, coming from a Russ Meyer fan
the guy even gave Barb Wire 2.5/4
Well it's not like they're all that similar in style. There's really nothing like Russ Meyer, and like I said they were friends so he's biased
Ebert is a very touchy critic, if there's one bugbear that offends his sensibilities or tastes, your movie is going down.
hmmm....
Lori Petty or Rose McGowan?
me
I choose the third option
Feels a bit more 80s than 90s but it's fun:
Class of 1999 (1990)

I have this on VHS but have never watched it. You're not the first on Sup Forums to recommend it to me, too.
That's the first time I've seen the trailer and it looks great, I reckon I'll bump it up my watch list. Thanks!
This one is from 1985, but i just don't give a fuck anymore, and it has Mathilda May a a space vampire, going around naked for the whole movie
That looks great. Gonna watch that with a couple of like-minded friends who I know will enjoy it. Thanks for the recommendation.
