Amnesty International wants to examine whether any of the German police are racists.
Secretary General of Amnesty International in Germany Selmin Caliskan accused the authorities of Germany that they are not able to effectively protect citizens against racist attacks. Amnesty International also suspects that the police are racists. At a press conference in Berlin on Thursday , Caliskan said that the number of racist attacks is the highest since the foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1949. The report of over 80 pages , published by AI shows that the number of attacks on refugee centers increased fivefold - from 199 in 2014 to 1,031 in 2015 . In the first months of this year, police recorded nearly 350 attacks on immigrant centers. Amnesty International says that " the extreme right " is doing most of these attacks. Amnesty International also suspects that police may have racist views , and therefore called on the German government to commission a review by an independent body of the scale of racist attitudes in the German justice system, especially among police officers.

German police is heavily understaffed because the government constantly cuts funds. They cannot protect you from anything. From what I've witnessed, most of them try to help but there are cities/villages with a few thousand inhabitants with only about 5 officers.
