I should probably explore folk and jazz more, but there's so much other stuff to listen to, especially in rock and pop.

Why would you lump metal in with rock? Shit like emo or pop rock is nowhere in the same field as death or black metal aside from what instruments are used.

OP here. I know how people can be with subgenres (autistic) so I wanted to be very concise to keep lists short. Just to get a general sense of how people here prioritize their genres.

How come you like RnB so much but hip-hop is way down the line ?

>Rock
Mainly Metal and Emo. Also some noise rock, and post punk.
>Folk
Indiefolkshit like NMH or the Microhpones, and folk punk like Andrew Jackson Jihad. Not exactly real folk.
>Jazz
Whatever comes on the Jazz radio stations
>Classical
Whatever I'm learning about in music class in College
>Hip-Hop
Whatever my friends put on when we're getting high together back home. Usually soundcloud stuff.
>Pop
Almost never, unless you count pop punk, or dreampop/shoegaze, in which case pop probably would end up right next to folk.
>Electronic
Listened to normie shit like Ratatat in middleschool. Got bored of it, haven't listened to electronica since.

Because one involves technical proficiency in instrumentation and singing and one does not. I'm not a lyrics pleb. And most hip hop has the same shitty lyrical themes anyway.

>I was poor and now I'm not
>females like me now that I am not poor
>I have not changed since I derived wealth and am still low class trash like you
>Black people issues, black, black, racism, change

You should expand your horizons a little desu

What exactly is pop music?

>I like black music as long as it's not made by actual black people

Oh, my bad about the namefagging. I forgot to take that off from a different thread.
I think you're right, but also I feel like I'm barely scratching the surface of so many of my favorite genres, and that there's so much more to listen to before I worry about exploring more stuff.

>I think you're right, but also I feel like I'm barely scratching the surface of so many of my favorite genres, and that there's so much more to listen to before I worry about exploring more stuff.
That's fair. Just make sure to never write off a genre. So much stuff I didn't give a chance years ago I love now

I like talented people despite their color. You appear to like people simply because they are black. I like listening to Wes Montgomery because he can PLAY. I like Otis Redding because he can SING. I like TALENT. Enjoy your talentless racebaiting modern faggotry. Most rap is for brainlet retards.

Folk would've ranked higher without country, it feels disingenuous to include country as a poison pill there

Yeah, that's definitely good advice. Thanks, user.

7. Hip Hop (I literally listen only to DG and Aesop Rock)

Huh, I guess good rhythm and harmony are worse than bad timbre and instrumentation. I hate bob dylan faggots like you.

>country as a poison pill there
A lot of classic country is great dude. If you like folk you should like it

nah I just thought this was funny that you liked r&b/funk/jazz so much and then complained about "black"

I don't relate either but i still enjoy some hip-hop

>1 metal, 2 classical
t. Ritchie Blackmore

I do too, I like Deca and some classic stuff that has funk influence. I just hate kanye and lamar because they are musically talentless.

Not the guy you are talking to.
But how can people even like rap anymore? its such shit, gets shoved down your throat. Im fucking tired of it. But they keep on shoving it in your face.
At least r&b guys are talented singers
I would take michael jackson over lil nigglet any day

The only times I listen to music are when I have to study (which is basically every fucking day but yeah), so the order reflects how much it helps prevent distractions:
Electronic (either a Psytrance PL or a vidya chiptune PL).
Pop (basically an anime OP and ED playlist).
Classical.
Rock.
Hip Hop (which is my favorite genre, but impossible to study with, I concentrate on the lyrics instead).
Jazz (only ahead because I am more likely to bump into random jazz tune online than a folk one).
Folk.
