only ambient techno

post-trap

Shitty

this desu

early techno but with trap hi hats

Harsh noise will become mainstream

hip hop and trance will merge.

everyone who refuses to sell all of their neural activity to amazon entropy generators will be converted into pure energy, so music and in fact all sensory activity will be non-existent

Strong shoegaze scene

This, even within hip hop. It could happen any time now

I would die of happiness if that actually happened

Disney channel pop

We can only hope.

maybe the pop music industry will start making actual music again just to piss off the post-hipsters who appreciate mindless pop ironically

i'm looking forward to the gothrock revival years.

The growing indie scene will be the next big thing, although artists like post Malone and Rich chigga will still be what all the normies with surface level music taste listen to.

00s nostalgia

thepablocollective.bandcamp.com/track/missing-persons-report-single

like this, at least within underground hip-hop

wind chimes

Post-shoegaze

90s telephone rings overlaid and manipulated postrhymically

monosyllabic lyrics and syncopated beats

What growing indie scene?

Power-Ambient desu.

Will be an amazing decade if this is true

post-lolicore

>Mac Demarco
>King krule
>Cosmo pyke
>Gus dapperton
>Clairo
>Jakob Ogawa
C'mon bro

Neuroscience will progress to the point where computers can accurately predict your music taste via brainwaves and procedurally generate the most pleasing notes/playlists to your heart's desire, rendering the music industry obsolete.

>growing

It's been alt-normie for the past ten years get with it

This is nonsense. I don't wanna go all auteur theory on this, but if you remove the creative process from the music it becomes awfully dull. The phenomenology of music discovery and learning about the artists and the background for the music is crucial for appreciating music in a way that's not just appreciating it as like fucking background noise. I don't want to just listen to fucking sounds arranged in a way that I like, it's much more interesting to engage with music in a way that acknowledges context, history, artistic vision and human limitation.

Even if we accept your premise, it would almost certainly spawn a counterculture that actively denied this approach. Also neuroscience will probably never reach that point, and even if it did it is certainly not within the next 20 years ago unless there's a significant paradigmatic shift.

there have been semi-mainstream "indie" artists like that for decades

Considering the gradual decline into how basic shit is today, with a mix of electronic music, this probably sounds like a realistic outlook.

i imagine it sounding like a a boot stamping on a human face forever

underrated trans-humanism post.

>this kills the techno

Rock makes a comeback, but in a more nuanced form inspired by old romantic and classical composers. Rap takes a nose dive.

Just like mainstream music is today; polished turds. Underground stuff will get better though. Just gonna be harder to find.

a lot more of this guy quote me screenshot i am the future

yeah, and john lennon comes back from the grave, the twin towers rise back up and i win the lottery.

Playboi Carti's self titled debut album was a postmodern classic.

The concept of Early 00's nu-metal + rap will make a comeback but it'll be more of a sludgy metal + trap + dubstep blend

shoegaze rap is the natural progression of cloud rap/atmospheric dark rap once you get rid of the loud trap elements its gonna happen

Everyone will be listening to Limp BIzkit again.

those are my windchiiiimes.....
daaa daaa daaaa

Grunge will return and the alternative-rock scene and emo scene will grow.

Thanks Borewell

there will be a surge of desire to pay attention to music again and jazz and classical will take over and kill everyone.

Another output channel that you hold to either of your nipples

2000s club rap will see a revival

i cant fucking wait
