Angel Morris
just drank a bunch of beer and ate a big jack in the box meal now chain smoking, would heem every here then fuck one of these pancrase girls easily. bet ur jealous now.
This webm reminds me of proto-MMA. I wish we could see the early 90s style vs style fighting where nobody knows what the fuck they're supposed to do in an MMA fight again. Even with a similar ruleset to the primordial UFC, it would still look much different because the sport has been around longer and various metas have already been instituted and worked around.
There's some cool shit to see in old Vale Tudo fights, though. It's basically a predecessor of proto-MMA, and it had been going on for a long time when MMA was invented.
Evan Torres
holy shit dude vale-tudo fights were on fire.i think im just missing pride-soccer kicks, pancrease and yeah oldschool mma in general
Jeremiah Barnes
...
Jaxon Lopez
what were the other 2, there was a super shady russia one with bad lighting and the even worse yellow lighted brazillian one
Camden Myers
Watching Vale Tudo always makes me think about what it would be like if headbutts were legal in MMA. I seriously feel like they would be an effective weapon for fighters to use in the clinch, or to just surprise your opponent when closing the distance.
They were pretty much non-stop from what I've seen of the really early UFC tournaments. If you butt in somebody's guard they usually flip and give up their back right away
Nathaniel Carter
Where the hell have all the boxing threads on the catalog come from
Usually there's only a few even after big events
Asher Watson
imagine an headbutt at 1:39 after the takedown
holy shit

You can see Steel's forehead connect with Kim's chin when they hit the ground in this webm.
Ethan Johnson
The top of his head, rather, not his forehead.
I swear to god these things would actually work very well in modern MMA
Hunter Gomez
So would Grounded knees Banned for a reason
Thomas Nelson
filipinos seething
Lincoln Morris
Quick webm off of memory, no idea why I remember this of all things. There's no telling what would happen if they were legal but I suspect you might see tighter hugging and less action in the clinch and on the ground to avoid getting spammed with 568548834973972 butts. Just a theory. I know I've seen several instances in the early tournaments of guys on the ground getting bashed until they gave up their back, I'll webm them if I can find them.
Joseph Hernandez
Going to post a few webms of those as well before I go to sleep for the night. Honestly, I think grounded knees, soccer kicks, and stomps to the head of a grounded opponent were banned more for the purpose of image than anything else. Erasing the stigma of the "no holds barred" era was vital for the UFC to achieve mainstream success, and those strikes looked very brutal to western audiences of the time.

Jackson Stewart
thats what im talkin about.
but defenitely a career-shortener due to pine breaks and stuff my guess

One huge reason Brazil and pushed the incorporation of leglocks into its own meta game was suppose to be a counter to being soccer kicked and stomp. A lot of scrambles can be created when you are on your back and someone is trying to kick you in the head.
However because there are no soccer kicks and stomps, BJJ's sports meta and leglocks suffer a bunch more there are no fast legs strikes for them to catch parry, to set up their guards
Most people just sit on/leg ride and hard counter the leglocks with wrestling ground and pound.
Introduce soccer kicks, and BJJ and BJJ style leglocks would make a stronger appearance then they do now.
Gavin Watson
12 elbows were banned solely because of those karate ice blocks breaking videos. Some goof in commission saw some guy break shitload of ice with an elbow and decided we can't have none of that
Asher Evans
Wow
IAFC held a 32 fighter tourney, 1 night
Landon Gonzalez
That'll do Pancrase, that'll do.
Juan Roberts
Stop repeating this fucking Rogan meme. It's not true.
Ethan Gray
post proof
Jordan Mitchell
Lol what
I need to watch Pancrase that shit is goofy.
Nathan Hill
I wonder how you fix an injury like that. Some doctor has to manually click your leg back into place and then you just gotta wait an awful long time until it heals?
William Bailey
So what's the story then? I always thought it sounded like the kind of thing you say when you want an excuse to get your fingerprints on the rules. I'm sure it sounds great when an athletic commission employee claims to have been the brains behind safety regulations, kind of like what's going on with the nonsense in California. .
Nathan Carter
I will fuck you bitch
Camden Foster

Angel Edwards
