I love 93 till infinity

>inb4 illmatic or madvilliany or donuts

GOAT night album in the car or public transportation

Yeah the dark beats make it a great night song

Fusion love this album
>the pipe! dammit!!!!

I dont think this needs a mention but I'll post it anyway

can listen to this on loop forever

...

What I love about this album is that it's at once a canonic release in the genre while at the same time being extremely foreboding and dark, warning of the emptiness and futility of the street lifestyle others tend to romanticize too much. Some of these songs literally give me goosebumps. If you like music as human expression of lived experience, this is about as real as it gets.

Spot on. Whenever I listen to the infamous I just get this feeling I get from no other album.

I always thought I was the only one who felt that way. Infamous gives me a feeling that so far no other album or musical piece has given me, it's really unique, probably my favourite album of all time

Patrician shit incoming.

glad to know there are a few of us out there! I'm sure there were a ton of kids in the 90s who were really moved by it

You can't stop the prophet. Complete with burning down twin towers and all.

To this day it is my only 5 star rap album on RYM.

thumbs down

these

I think this album achieves a similar thing. It's less nihilistic and the production is a bit less dark but in terms of immersing you as if you were actually walking around in 90s QB/BK, the atmosphere is fantastic. Can't remember where but read someone describing Dah Shinin' like a fever-dream being chased through bucktown

youtube.com/watch?v=jG0UfVTLaLw

>When I awoke I was locked in the barber's shop
>Trapped in the barber's chair
>Oh no, they're gonna try and cut my hair
>But that can't stop the Prophet
Don't care what anyone says this is the GOAT 4 bars

can't be fucked to make several posts so have this

P.N.C. is easily one of the best endings to any rap album.

quit trying to force this meme

I listened to this for a like 4 months, on and off because everyone on Sup Forums was hyping. Apart from the track doomsday and '?', I don't see what all the fuss was about.

Say what you wanna say and hang for your hollow ways, but Imperial is an outstanding album

I have to play this one start to finish almost every time

haha fuck you

It's s suicide, suicide. Gives me chills everytime

...

mobb deep is overrated, migos and young thug musically beat wise and lyrically are better.

...

Idk what to tell you man. To me, the production and the lyrical content all have this lighthearted approach to a genre that is characteristically hyper masculine and one dimensional. Not to say that OD doesn’t contain any braggadocio, it’s just packaged in an ironic, almost childish way. It’s different, catchy, and despite what people on mu will tell you, doom is a clever lyricist with an authentic image and persona. I think dudes on here just take him too seriously probably.

Fear of a Black Planet

3 Feet High and Rising

...

thanks for letting us know which albums you haven't heard, that's really useful input into this discussion
also
lifestylez of da poor and dangerous and moment of truth overrated?
opinion dropped

9th Wonder did great work on pic related

...

...

...

>lifestylez of da poor and dangerous and moment of truth overrated?

yes it is overrated as hell. because of L's death. some of the songs are just boring.

...

probably one of the most underrated rap albums of the last decade, certified classic

regardless of L's death that album is fire, i'll admit one or two of the features are a bit weak but every line L spits is hard
also no one had punchlines like L, we probably wouldn't have had a lot of the punchline rappers if it weren't for lifestylez
the album is influencial and L raps like crazy on it, definite classic

...

...

>also no one had punchlines like L, we probably wouldn't have had a lot of the punchline rappers if it weren't for lifestylez
>the album is influencial and L raps like crazy on it, definite classic

i agree with all of these man. i love Big L but i stil feel like he died without putting his full potential into an album. some of the songs are real weak on that album. i don't blame Big L for it.

...

This needs to be posted more often

one of the better albums released this year

...

These albums are god-tier. The rest are okay.

de la are one of the most overrated hip hop groups ever
