lo-fi house is definitely not my thing, but i do think even by lo-fi standards its TOO lo-fi. try bring the vocals too the front and sidechain with the kick if necessary.
personally, i'd've chop up the vocals and made a melody, which would make it a bit more obvious that its a loop. i keep to the rule that a sample should never be longer than half a bar (but can be repeated infinitely).

i shouldve specified that it was for vocal samples and applies to individual samples, not all the samples that are used. nothing stopping avalanches-type stuff.

i dont think its too lo-fi at all, the melody/sample just needs some eq and better reverb, it sounds really dry in a bad way
not a huge fan of the drums either, you could build better tension in the song with different but similar programming and i dont like the specific shaker sample
