Fuck that album is so good. Rags N bones is still one of my top 10 songs of all time.

That band and album Is the GOAT.

>if primus was actually good and played punk

Their entire discography is solid as fuck. GOAT band

CAPTAIN!
DIVE! DIVE!

Those back and forth vocals with the descending riff into that bass shuffle fucking kill me

post your favorite post hardcore band

Well, Christ was married on the cross
My father was married to my mother
And I am married to a cigarette butt lying in the gutter

Mandatory post

really anything by fugazi is perfect

no, this is GOAT

autism aside, i know this is basically shellac but it's still fire

just kidding, i'm mentally incapable of putting autism aside. i want to die

That's a great album. But no it is not shellac.
It's sludge punk and sounds like shellac if they werent fucking boring

So when are The Blood Brothers going to reunite and put out a new album like ATDI and Glassjaw?

Why is post-hardcore such an easy genre to fuck up? When it's good, it's fantastic, else, it's middling.

I like:

Touché Amoré - Stage Four
Daïtro - Laisser vivre les squelettes
I Hate Myself - 10 Songs
Hüsker Dü - New Day Rising
Quicksand - Slip
Dag Nasty - Can I Say
On the Might of Princes - Where You Are and Where You Want to Be
...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Madonna
Fugazi - Red Medicine
Big Ups - Before a Million Universes
Portraits of Past - Discography
Small Brown Bike - Our Own Wars
Planes Mistaken for Stars - Prey
Ampere - Like Shadows
Squirrel Bait - Skag Heaven
pageninetynine - Document #8
Rites of Spring - End on End
Pile - Dripping
At the Drive-In - Acrobatic Tenement
Jawbox - Jawbox
NoMeansNo - Wrong
Moss Icon - Complete Discography

I went through a big post-hardcore phase, though at this point I'm honestly more into crust, as far as punk-related stuff goes.

>Released before the first Shellac album
>Basically Shellac
>Not even post-hardcore

There's a lot wrong with this post user

But it doesn't matter because that album rocks. Jesus Lizard is God-tier noise rock

Good post-hardcore is hard to acheive because the good stuff is kind of subtle for the most part. A mix of raw aggression and more complex arrangements.

It's easy to rip off a band like Fugazi, it's hard to match their songwriting

I think a big problem is that right now there are two only tenuously related genres going by the "post-hardcore" label. One is that 80s post-hardcore sound with bands like Fugazi and Husker Du, which led to 90s bands like Quicksand and I Hate Myself, which in turn led to modern bands like Ampere, Big Ups, and Touché Amoré. That's one. Then there's this other music movement masquerading as post-hardcore, that's basically 00s "scene kids" trying to sound metal and tough, i.e. Escape the Fate, From First to Last, and so on. They have almost nothing to do with each other.

I know Fugazi began in the late 80's but their principal body of work is pure 90s.

That's totally irrelevant to my point.

I know i was just being a prick

Are there any new post-hardcore bands that have the sound and spirit of the older post-hardcore bands? All I ever hear now is over-produced metalcore or ph that sounds like its on too much cough syrup. What happened to the more diy punk inspired ph?

/our guys and girl/

See, we need that thing Unwound and Fugazi did of shows being open for everyone. My band did that last night in my college town, surprisingly, the place was full unlike other shows from other bands.

But yeah, Sara is /ourgal/.

Watch Sara destroy her her drums

Used to listen to post-hardcore in high school, then I started listening to hip-hop.
Sort of wish I didn't grow out of it.

Listened to a couple tracks from Mclusky Do Dallas and I was digging that. Andrew Falkous' vocals are the shit.

this is a legit masterpiece

If that's the case definitely check Future of the Left and Christian Fitness

Man, that show must have been incredible live.
