fuck off

We have the best trading routes in Europe.

25%

Neither of those really answer the question.

America spends a fuckload on its military doesn't it?

Yes, but that wasn't what I was asking about.

Could just type UK tax rate into google

>so the UK doesn't have to.

The US military literally pays for UK social programs.

20%
After you earn 45k a years its 40%
And after you earn 100k it's 50%

20% (after £11,000 tax free)

Also 20% on most purchases (VAT)

ok so who is the threat that europe is protected from? russia? china? north Korea? LOL

The high operating costs of running a business, combined with endless Government regulation, UK banking practices and multi-national profiteering, remains a major contributory factor that's induced a negative affect by forcing UK businesses to mark-up their goods and services far higher than is compared with many European and other countries in World - especially the USA! The end effect leaves UK businesses little option but to charge higher retail prices upon consumers. However, contrary to what many people may believe, 'home-grown' UK business profit margins are not excessive as compared with other 'home' businesses in the G8.

What is VAT?

A 20% consumption tax applied to pretty much every single product for sale in the UK.

But its included in the price as displayed on products.

If you geniunely want to know, you're either too lazy or stupid to search. I will point out though that you shouldn't fall into the trap of thinking 45% tax rate in income applies to all income, only earnings over a threshold that most people do not or will not ever reach.

Value added tax

Value Added Tax paid on non-essential purchases.

>tfw finally reached that threshold

Feels good and shit man.

Sales tax

Thank you all for providing me with the information.

You're welcome cousin.

Plus extra 12% national insurance (i.e. Tax Part 2: Electric Boogaloo)
Then you have fuel duty (about 50%), VAT at 20%, insurance premium tax at 7%(?), stamp duty, capital gains tax, council tax, road tax, inheritance tax, etc
