Ian Curtis didn't deserve the legacy he has. honestly I think he deserved much more then this

Bloody faggot. Could he not just work a proper honest job like all the other blokes. But noo, look at me, I'm so special hur dur. Good riddance

>literally had a job up until his death

You're absolutely retarded if you think you could go with having no job while living in north england. Kill yourself.

>Do I fit in yet?
It could've been funny if you knew who you're talking about.

Why did he make a song rather than just tell her this himself or in a postcard

That's one of the biggest bummer parts of a song JD ever did. In fact, a lot of JD stuff is enjoyable because it sort of romanticizes gloom. I find that song unenjoyable, but not in a bad way, because it's just so utterly hopeless.

What are you trying to say? Your first sentence makes it sound like you think JD is overrated. The second is the opposite.

How do we know he didn't?

he is obviously saying Ian deserved a legacy even greater than what he has.

>JD stuff is enjoyable because it sort of romanticizes gloom
You are making it sound like JD is a generic emo band for 14 year olds wtf

Is it not tho?

yes and no

more JD songs than that just that one are hopeless IMO

Yeah, but that one always hit me harder than any of the others. Something about it is just so bleak. I listened to Unknown Pleasures, Closer, and Substance a lot in my late teens (Substance was my favorite).

kys

It's kind of retarded to chastise someone for trying to become great, even if they were misguided in that pursuit.

Joy Division are always the band I turn to when I'm at rock bottom.

Even if you strip back any sort of subjectivity from their music, Closer remains as one of the accuate summations of depression, artistic or otherwise.

Rip in peace

>Just for one moment, I heard somebody call
>Looked beyond the day in hand, there's nothing there at all

What's with the fucking sadposting? Go back to posting your frogs

take it easy, man. nobody should be making regular trips to rock bottom

>watching the reel as it comes to a close
>brutally taking its time

BUT I REMEEEEEEEMBER

I wish he wrote stories or poetry too. He was a genius.

>inb4 his lyrics are poetry
You know what I mean, faggot.

Damn. Now I wanna' listen to Joy Division.

t. pleb that just discovered JD on Tumblr

What a coincidence

Wasn't the song just that?

Merry X-mas.

I once wrote those lyrics down in a coffeeshop journal and somebody thought it was my own. He regarded me as a god and I had to "Face-Up". But yeah, gets me, too. The synths are weird but at least they're not so dated like Depeche Mode or something... Martin H was brilliant to that regard.

take that back!

true. not that guy, but it happens to some of us alkies every once in a while...

These Days, I prefer stuff like Mojave 3. A bit more hopeful with a twinge of melancholy thrown in.

My friend and his wife SWEAR that has overdubbed bass on it, but I could never hear it. I don't doubt them but as a bass player I just figured Hooky was just quick (on the slowest song on that album). But I know overdubbing was common with their productions.

Just lose some sleep and say you tried.

>LONE PINE Personal

>write music like this
>band mates don't suspect a thing and keep drooling on

Literally how stupid can they be?

I have no words.
If this were in a movie it would be Komakino.

Hey, I just realized I am wearing a JD hoodie. Feels good.

I'd say they probably were just in their own worlds, being kids and all ("me in my own world") in that they probably couldn't hear what he was singing (have you listened to their live shows?). That said, they DID have the recordings, so yeah...
