The time has come, less than a year remains.
Best case scenario EmojiMovie is a financial failure.
EmojiMovie suicide pact
It is a crime against humanity.
Honestly it would be a cute idea for a short film but I don't see how they're going to stretch this out for an hour and a half.
this is it
this is how it ends
>In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression – except for Gene an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions.
>Gene is determined to become "normal" like the other emojis.
What's worse? This garbage plot, the dodgy love interest, or the fact it's discount Wreck it Lego Movie?
truly revolutionary use of the film medium
Are emojis even "cool" anymore? I can't shake the feeling that they are years behind the trend again.
(And who in their right mind thinks an emoji movie is a good idea, anyways?)
Emoticons haven't been "cool" since 1999
Why are they called 'emojis' now?
Marketing
Emoticon was too many syllables for millennials
THE MORAL IS TO CONFORM
that's actuially the most interesting part. No movie I can think of has had that kind of message.
You're kidding, right? You can't see through that bullshit? Obviously he's going to try to be normal for a while then realize his unnatural existence is good, and he will either be accepted or actually find a way to make everyone have multiple facial expressions. It's painfully obvious.
That seems unlikely, the Trolls movie's moral was to be happy without reasoning.
I don't know, Wreck It Ralph sort of started a trend where the moral of "be yourself" got addended with "but also you have a role and expectations and please fall in line." Ultimately the message of every big kids movie is just: "Whoa, hey, just do what makes you feel good, but also be responsible or society will fail coca cola wal-drug new sony cell phones"
How would that be unlikely? It's 99% going to be that, so much emphasis has been placed on the sense of self in modern culture, it has to pertain to the best interests of the general audience (Normie's love the idea of an individual so it will sell)
>In November 2015, Sony scheduled the film to be released on August 11, 2017. A year later, it was moved forward to August 4, 2017, with Sony's Baby Driver taking its date.
Sony has more confidence with a movie called "Baby Driver". That says a lot.
People said that Angry Birds would be a financial failure. They were so wrong.
>No movie I can think of has had that kind of message
High School Musical. There is literally a song about going with the status quo and not standing out. I'm not even joking, it's not satire, it's played straight.
I wouldn't worry about it goy
But that was the strawman song.
In the end neither the basketball player nor muh smart womyn conform to their roles and both go sing at the theater or something
