underrated af; saw no discussion about this album aside from a brief mention on a Fantano video

> Oiseaux-Tempte - AL-'AN ! الآن (And your night is your shadow — a fairy-tale piece of land to make our dreams)

> post-rock, experimental, drone, middle eastern instrumentation and influences

Casual Friday - Weekend Forever

Saw these guys live at a tiny house party in Phoenix, they rock

Nice choice. Mirror Reaper is fucking heavy in an emotional way.

...

Sometimes I just wanna go outside and smash every thing I could get my hands on. This album serves as a substitute.

...

do EPs count?

Died - Died EP

...

Holy shit man I've been looking for something like this! Much appreciated. Can't wait to dive in.

...

holy shit that album art is laughable

v v v hidden gem, one of my favorites of the year.
Cool noise-folk album from my hometown of Minneapolis.

Album is Peaceful Night by Q-pup

damn i keep forgetting about this

nice

If Philip Glass made this every last WASP would have emptied their balls into the air and it somehow would have solved the migrant crisis.

So much stuff here I haven't even listened to

waaaat

I didn't know Sparks released a new album.

Need a couple more listens, but it's one of my top AOTY contenders right now.

Very solid as well. If the artwork wasn't so repulsing maybe more people would listen to it.

I barely started working on this year's releases, but here are some of my picks so far

...

what could this be?
google image search was as useless as your filename

youtu.be/xoWuJX5imTA

this, it's in everyone's best interest to put proper filename's at all times i don't fucking get it

France has had a very awesome year.

i don't remember a single riff from this album

what makes you think having memorable riffs was the point?

>what makes you think having memorable riffs was the point?
Sludge/stoner/doom metal without riff is similar to 3$ wine

From what I've listened to

if i can't remember a single moment from a record and zero captivating atmosphere to boot that's a sign it's not that good
bearing in mind i listened to dear around 9 or 10 times

listen more pls. not even best Saturation

...

glossy production. excellent to listen under the influence of controlled substances.

Luckily nothing is stopping it being a 9/10 for me, shame that you didn't enjoy it.

...

reccing this shit baby, GOAT album art as well

>1st song is 4:20

Native Cell - Native Cell
It's free on Bandcamp
If you know it you might know it technically came out in 2015 but the 2017 version is pretty drastically different
2015 version was pretty good but forgettable, 2017 version is an AOTY contender for me

I also have a top 100 chart that I've only made if halfway through, will post if there's interest though, just figured it'd be a bit much

I think FFS is a little better but Hippopotamus is really good.

...

barely listened to anything tbqh

This is easily in my top five. It's beautiful.

Lol wut ? Which one do you think is actually better. And please don't tell me you think III was better

I will listen to this, seems interesting.

meme

>dude random senseless noises all over the production

Maybe not my AOTY, but I just listened to this last night and it's bretty good.

way too short but so lush

Really like this album outside a track or two. Not sure if it's AOTY but it's top 5 for sure.

probably one of the most unmemorable album of their entire career and it's coming from someone who loved New Album ...

link for the interested.
so do these guys not exist? Couldn't find a bandcamp nor soundcloud. and their 'label' doesn't exist on discogs or google search.

I was surprised as I didn't care a lot for the first couple of singles. Definitely one of my favorites this year.

emo revival continues

still mad underrated

diednyc.bandcamp.com/album/died-ep

very hard to find, but they also have 10,000 likes on facebook for some reason. weirdest shit i've ever seen

saw ENDON on tour with Boris and they outshined them by far. great album.
