>Why do punters get so much hate?

>>Why do punters get so much hate?
I don't know how this isn't self-explanatory. Not saying it's right but it is what it is.

Anyway, the best punter will buy you about 20-25 yds/game vs the average and 40-50 yds/game from the worst. They're not a meme by any means but they're not underrated, they can only provide so much value on the field.

because if you have to rely on your punter your team is already doing poorly

It's also really volatile year to year, not much gap between the best punters and the worst punters.

Punters and kickers do not endure the rigors of gridiron football and yet they can win or lose a game with a single play.

shut up you fuckin moron

>girls can be punters in college football
you have your answer user

No one hates punters though, you autist.

It's one of the last mostly white positions in the NFL. Punting and kicking and quarterbacking are for white men.

Oh you mean that division 3 scholarship?

That's a fucking pity scholarship that just complies with title IX

Apologize

>Why do punters get so much hate?
They don't

punters dont get hate.
they are the rockstar of the special teams.
they get their own plays designed for them.
PK's maybe.
but punters get jerseys. and guys like them because they have to practice being a safety during practice since they are the last line of defense.
>punters in the nfl have been given game balls for a pivotal play. they also throw touchdowns or run for 1sts sometimes.

Only by proxy.

If you see a punter too much, that means the offense sucks something awful. Ergo, the team sucks. And you hate your team. And that hate extends to the punter.

It's more accurate to say Punter is the least LOVED position from a fan's perspective because they are largely signs of surrender in a drive, have relatively few chances to do something great like pin an opponent inside their red zone, and even rarely are the focal point in a trick play. They always start out negatively when used in a game.

Because it's literally the least important position in football.

Because they do jack shit. They should at least be fast and be good tacklers. There are 1 out of 10 assholes who could be punters in the NFL.

long snapper brah

>quarterbacking
Not anymore. I predict a majority of black qbs in 2025

it will never happen, even if america became all black nfl teams would just go to europe to find qbs and then the nfl would disappear since all black countries are shit

Because guys like Chris Kluwe exist and make an entire position in sports embarassing

never noticed how tiny Seabass' hands were

They're not underrated by any means, but it's hard to have someone stand out from the rest. Most starting punters have similar stats, unlike other positions when you can point out game changers.

The only hate they get is by close minded fellows who think they aren't football players, but at the end of the day, every team needs a punter.

They're just not that important man. Red zone scoring is so difficult that field position doesn't matter much.

>best punter in the league is black
