Only good country artist ever

>plays the same three chords the whole song

are you retarded
youtube.com/watch?v=9v_xkHnIRqk

Gone but not forgotten. RIP :(
Not even the best country artist
Shh go back to your frank zapa

one of the greatest artists of the 21st century.

t. only listened to le sad owl album

Ghost Tropic, Didn't it Rain, and Magnolia Electric Co. S/T all absolutely destroyed me

Give Josephine a listen. The songs on there are extra painful to listen to knowing how he ended up.

protection spells

figure 8 was his best album

Anybody who digs Jason Molina, check out the track "It Must Be Raining There Forever". One of the most spellbindingly beautiful things I've ever heard.

Good joke

I agree. But how the hell do you pronounce his name? Is it "Mo-Lee-nuh" or "Mall-in-ah"? I feel like I'm always saying it wrong when I recommend him to other people

The first one.

Thank you kind user!

Godtier manlet.

I miss him deeply.

Highly overrated among a small group of fans but he was decent.

What else can you recommend if you like his music?

bump

he was ok. seems pretty overrated here

Damien Jurado is a favorite of mine and one of the only artists that really gives me jason molina vibes (he covered riding with the ghost once too). he's got a pretty diverse career so i'll post a few youtube songs. (pic related is my favorite record of his)

thanks for this, my man

2 > salad days if we're being honest

Is that Homeshake?

no its not homeshake user

le sad owl album is the only one i really like. some songs from sojourner are good though

If you haven't heard it yet, Ghost Tropic is actually incredible. If you have already heard it, please give if another chance

I have heard it and i will

RIP Drake Bell

It really grew on me. The first 2-3 times I heard it I didn't think it was anything special, but since then I've enjoyed it more every time I've heard it

damien's cool but he constantly looks like a douchebag

I have unreleased outtakes from Josephine. Reply to this post with trips or more and I'll post a Mega link with them.

Feeling generous, make it dubs.
>Pic related, proof

Fun fact: Jason Molina is actually who introduced Mr. Jurado to the label. They were pretty good friends from what I hear.

Bumping with a rare Molina.

wrong and wrong pleb

Bumping, the dubs-for-unreleased Molina offer still stands.

his solo albums are great too
>'it's easier now to just say i got better'

Trips and you send his solo albums too

>Meme digits
Have a link to his best solo live show as consolation. archive.org/details/meco2006-12-03.sbd.flac16

Didn't It Rain for the win. Easily the best album. Also, seriously check out archive.org for incredible live bootleg shows of both Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co. You can download them in mp3 or flac. Here are some winners

yo don't fuck.

Don't worry, I'll keep the thread bumped til it hits post limit to give anyone interested a fair chance.

Damn I keep getting lucky with this digits. Two 33s in a row.

It's italian, first pronunciation is indeed correct.

roll

I assumed it was Spanish for some reason (he brings up Spain in several songs, and aside from an album title being in Italian due to it being recorded in Italy, Italy never came up as far as I can remember), but it'd still be pronounced the same way so it doesn't really matter.

Not that R.S.W. is not unreleased but it is an outtake from the Josephine sessions.

In case you guys have notifications, someone rolled dubs.

I'd really like to read the biography book about Molina that came out this year.

Why didn't you just share though? Do you want the attention? user begging you? Fag

Sup Forums has a long tradition of gets unlocking content. Lurk more.

You're right though, I should've made it more interesting and at least added 'post your favorite Molina song and if it gets dubs I'll release the tracks', lesson learned on my end for future releases of rarities.

Hopefully you enjoy the tracks, they were very hard to track down.

My fav Jason's album is pic related

I love him since I discovered him with Trials & Errors (good live btw) back in 2005; his death shocked me as Bowie's :/

THIS
my fav so far:
archive.org/details/meco2009-08-27.sbd.flac16

On My Way to Absence is also really good too.
Not fan of his more upbeat recent albums tho....

Cat Power - Myra Lee

Glen Hansard
Damien Jurado
Bonnie "Prince" Billy/Will Oldham
Bill Callahan/Smog
Will Johnson/Centro-Matic (he and Molina did a collab album called Molina & Johnson which is thoroughly enjoyable).
