You need a deep team with good players to even sniff beating the Warriors but you can't build that team because those role players are getting offered absurd amounts of money (thanks to the NBAPA) and teams can't afford to have role players making All star player money so they have to let those players walk or pay them a ton of money.
Small market teams really can't compete that's why places like Spurs who have people constantly taking pay cuts in hope of winning a title will always be relevant while other teams have to over PAY people to stay and play for them.
