Major Pentatonic is made of notes that are all fifths of each other, starting on C, these are C, G, D, A, and E. Also it's missing the fourth and seventh of the major scale, which removes a potential source of dissonance with the third and fourth which are right next to each other, also removes the VII chord which is a dissonant sounding diminished chord in the major scale, and also removes the seventh note which is right next to the first / tonic.
tl;dr the scale is designed to be all consonant tones with each other so you can just noodle about / improvise and it'll sound fine.
