>tumblr starter pack

Why can't I open any fucking images.

> criticized it for be tumblr
> literally posts Tumblr Instagram Mtv the movie

mr nobody doesnt belong there
Lost in translation, eternal sunshine are good but not masterpieces

define modern

Synecdoche > Eternal Sunshine

It's great that more women are posting on Sup Forums.

>Mr Nobody

>Synecdoche
>better than anything but pond scum

Go to bed, YMS

Not an argument.

All movies are modern in the grand scale of things

The only masterpiece in that list is City of God. Haven't seen One Day but Anne Hathaway isn't a good sign.

Yet still completely accurate. Go figure

These

Also these

I'm not Op but I'd define it as post year 2000 for simplicity sakes.

And I'd define a masterpiece as a film that checks at least three/four of the following five categories
>groundbreaking originality
>next to flawless execution
>memorable performance in a standout area (cinematography, effects, sound, acting, scenery, editing, etc), as in critics will point to it as an outstanding example on how to do a thing
>relevant and important subject
>beloved and heralded among its audience

And there arent that many films made this millenia that checks most of the boxes.
City of God?
Adaptation?
LotR: the Fellowship
The Dark Knight Rises
Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind?
A Separation
Tillsammans
Jagten
Speed Racer
Gladiator
Room 237

Those are probably the only ones that I've seen that I'd consider calling a masterpiece.

we've always been here fatboii, go check out my titties over in soc

Speed Racer

>Hard to Be a God

My nigga

>Eternal sunshine
>Two people whom we have no reason to actually believe are in any capacity a good fit for one another end up overcoming basic sense in their effort to maintain an awful relationship

Wow what a modern fucking gem. I hate how people suck that movie off so much.

City of God is the best thing in that picture

It was ambitious and was basically an actually competant version of cloud atlas.

Its not perfect but hits a lot of the marks and is a very unique experience

>but it le doesn't le make any le sense!!!

Modern doesn't mean what you think it means.

The best five films of the past 15 years are Drifting States, Caché, Brand Upon the Brain!, Cold Weather, and Stranger Than Fiction

You just explained why it's such a good movie, but phrased it as a criticism.

Most relationships are ill-fated and forced.

lost in translation can go suck a bag of dicks

Mad Max: Fury Road (deal with it)
The Great Beauty
Force Majeure

Do people actually rate mr nobody? I couldnt get past the first hour.

>Most relationships are ill-fated and forced.

You know, I actually didn't think about it like that. That's a good point.

But most of my brain is already set in having a distaste for the movie

>3 le's
overdoing it

youtube.com/watch?v=Zv0WlHbBhdc

Yeah I thought the same as soon as I posted it

>Two people whom we have no reason to actually believe are in any capacity a good fit for one another end up overcoming basic sense in their effort to maintain an awful relationship
sounds like someone missed the point

hint: the ending is not a happy one

never felt lonely user?

>Force Majeure
no

I consider The Proposition to be a top 10 all time Western.

Neither of those

Pic related is an example

...

just a plain drama, it being exotic has no influence on its quality

fucking incredible desu baka baka

Mr. Nobody, I loved it. Anna best girl.

Pfff. Is this IMDb or something ?

It's a tragedy if anything, but I wouldn't call it that, and it's very much a classic, it's very broad and over encompassing in its themes and the questions it raises are universal in character.

What would you consider a classic? Something that is semi popular among semi cineasts that browse rotten tomatoes and IMDb to chose the bed movie for their weekend?

>Enter the void
>patrician

What a forward young man you are

That's a meme list, well not completely but parts of it

Death of mr lazarescu was such a great movie, I should start recommending it more

>Caché

Literally neck yourself

Kino was a mistake

>he fell for the spring breakers is not kino meme

>implying old movies can be masterpieces

...

...

>mr nobody
I love this movie to death

Nice hipster core, it's like I'm on MUBI or RYM

No actual hipster knows even a tenth of those movies, you really need to be into movies to even have heard of those films. I'll admit that they're not *that* obscure but it doesn't matter does it?

All tripe

>The assassination of Jesse James
>goodbye dragon inn
>in the mood for love
>tripe
Lmao, ok buddy

You heard me, complete and utter waste of time

Probably they most overrated film of the deacde so far.

The script is very simple, plus it doesn't provide any new insights, and stylistically it brings nothing new to the table.

Sure the performances are alright, but that does not justify the endless circle-jerking over it.

>>relevant and important subject
anti art faggot

...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Green Room

Is Enter The Void good? My friend loved it but I haven't seen

if you enjoy having headaches & faking appreciation for obnoxious nonsense

This is a patrician connoisseur choice.
Thread is now over. Get the fuck out, plebs.

This movies was really underrated.

>time of the wolf
>my son my son what have ye done
>goodybe dragon inn
>tale of cinema
there are better works from these directors, even in the same decade, weird choices

HBP is better than that Coen trash
