what genres typically have the most interesting chords? I get a lot of progrock recommended to me: Rush, Plantera, Tool, King Crimson, Elo....but generally it's a little plain for me. I really like the pure chord density of bands like BTBAM or Native Construct. Any time I try to get into jazz for the chords, its too...messy; like the artists don't hold themselves to very high standards.
A good balance is mathrock typically.
What are some good math rock bands/albums?
Nile and other tech death bands
My favorite by a landslide is This Town Needs Guns - Animals
