sounds like a you problem buddy
i browse Sup Forums unironically
I basically never listen to music from later than the early 70's.
I have no interest in classical or jazz.
I've paid up to $35 for one CD.
>keep discovering edgy metal I actually like
>it only keeps getting more and more extreme
>mfw I think I'm going in to deep and will be listening to this shit even when I become an old man
checked
Oh yeah user, I have paid up to 300 dollars for one cassette
Sweet Jesus, what was it?
There are a couple of records I'd be willing to spend nearly 100 on but they always sell for over triple that.
I hardly listen to music before the 90s
this is god tier goth doom
its the stuff like megadeth and metallica you shouldn't still be listening to when you're old
Liking metal is nothing to be ashamed of. What bands did you get into? What did you listen to before you got into metal?
Monotheist is a great album btw.
I can't stand a full pink floyd's album
i like scape.
what CD?
A few have been around that price range, a couple that spring to mind are Lightnin' Hopkins' complete Herald recordings (Japanese import) and Fats Domino's complete Reprise recordings (limited edition).
kinda makes sense desu
I tend to like a lot of thrashy bands as I like chugging riffs and hard hitting drums, but a lot of it is pretty generic imo, so atm I'm listening to a lot of proto-black metal (Bathory, Venom, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, etc.) as it sounds kinda similar imo. I haven't broken the pleb filter into second wave bm yet w/ the vocals and blast beats. Looking into trying out some blackened thrash...
Also interested (gothic) doom bands since I like like Sabbath, Type O Negative, Danzig and Dream Death.
I kinda made the transformation from pop punk stuff like green day, blink-182, to old school punk like black flag and misfits, eventually into hardcore, deathrock and d-beat; e.g. Discharge, Samhain...
I unironically hate most Sup Forumscore because it is bad. This includes Slint, that Loveless record, The Avalanches, and Radiohead just to name a few.
Sufjan Stevens is a whiny hipster cunt who makes fuck awful music.
Post hardcore is a shit genre made for psuedo intellectual douchebags who think too highly of themselves.
I like going into the faces of Sup Forums threads to the ugly mugs of all the insufferable faggots who post on this board.
I decide whether to swipe right or left on thots on tinder based on their anthems and top Spotify artists
me 2 desu
>actually using that STI cesspool
>actually basing your decisions on musical taste
You're that guy in the metal threads right?
Megadeth has some good songs that stand the test of time
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is my favorite album of all time and i dont care what anyone here thinks
I bet you still care about disappointing your parents
Most of my favorite albums are Sup Forumscore even after trying a lot of more obscure, "better" artists. I feel like people shit on Sup Forumscore because these albums are discussed so much rather than because they're bad.
basically this
I think The Burning World is bretty gud
>tfw get called a patrician on Sup Forums
>tfw get called a hipster in real life
This secretly makes me feel kinda nice.
image related kek
I really like the song Broken Whiskey Glass by Post Malone.
>tfw i really like a band, listened to all their albums, and met the singer and bassist of members of said band
>still make fun of them on Sup Forums because of memes
Pic related is oc.
Unironically love postrock, Kid A and Aphex Twin even though I call people on here fedora tippers when they share it.
if you want to jump right into some real bm some guy on rym was saying Sovereign is blackened thrash. I'll be honest that I don't really know what thrash sounds like so maybe he's just a retard but check this out, it's great
i feel like i know who you are and i fucking hate u fagot
Who am I?
Here's a /mew/ confession for ya.
A few years ago this amazingly beautiful dude posted his band on Sup Forums for C&C. They were actually really good and I developed an instant crush on him. After chatting a bit in the thread, by bizarre coincidence I learned he was actually from the same country, city, and lived in the same suburb as me. As an even more bizarre coincidence he would come into my work all the time. Within a week of him posting on Sup Forums I saw him at my work. He's not gay and because I felt super awkward about telling him how beautiful he was that I never introduced myself. And I still see him around sometimes. We even have several mutual friends on FB.
If this was a heterosexual situation everybody would be telling me how this is too good to pass-up and how it's practically destined for us to be together and "make a move bro!", but because it's not it's just a fucking disaster for me.
Wat do.
>he posted on Sup Forums
>he doesn't want dick
He's only pretending to be straight. Go for it user.
No friend he's in a long term serious unbreakable relationship with a female. And not to be rude but she fucking uuuuu-gly. From my vantage point it's a 10 with a 3. Buuuuut they're happy and that's that I guess.
Thanks for your encouragement though user, it's a wonderful thought at least.
fag
...
...
I'm not saying Post-Hardcore is good but you've got it all wrong friend. It's bad but for completely different reasons.
Thanks for the rec, will check them out
My moms a bit patrish but my dad is a massive pleb who STILL likes the 70s and 80s punk rock of his youth.
I think the perpetuation of Sup Forumscore and charts is the sole redeeming thing about Sup Forums
I exclusively listen to 90s music
I haven't liked a single album that came out this year.
good
that means you are not a pussy
i pretend that i'm a right handed kurt cobain whenever i play my guitar
patrician taste my friend. i can't stand pink floyd either
I like the following pop-punk bands:
>MxPx
>Yellowcard
>Screeching Weasel
>Green Day
>Blink-182
>Teenage Bottlerocket
>Alkaline Trio
>Neck Deep
>Knuckle Puck
>Seaway
PHEW! Good to get some weight off my shoulder
feel better now you came out of the closet?
>It only gets more extreme
You know you're in too deep once you make the jump to noise.
Yeah, naturally
Wouldn't say I haven't liked any, but I didn't love any, really weak year for music.
>Implying I post in that dumpster fire of a thread
Fuck you.
Please elaborate.
This is one of the greatest bangers of all time
youtube.com
An album where Muse doesn't just stick 10 versions of the same song together, actually pretty good.
>greatest bangers of all time
I could mash it to that all day
i think choa is the best musician to ever exist
not ethnically possible
you don't know choa then do you
not personally
or unpersonally either it looks like
>popularity is directly correlated with quality
>rhcp, green day and sublime are all good bands
>most jazz is tedious irritating garbage
>rap is my favorite genre of music
>the velvet underground were extremely overrated
>radiohead is extremely overrrated
>p4k's music suggestions are generally pretty good
>lil peep was/is unironically one of the best artists of the 2010s
This is not a confession, this a “look at how special I am with my taste” post.
I mean, you are confessing that you’re afflicted with the same personality disorder as most of this board, but I doubt you’re self-aware enough to realize that
>the velvet underground were extremely overrated
>radiohead is extremely overrrated
>p4k's music suggestions are generally pretty good
The same p4k that worships VU and that said that Radiohead had the best album of the 90s and the 00s? I guess that means you just like p4k when they’re pushing Cardi B?
I said those two bands in particular are overrated, but most of p4k's suggestions are pretty decent. Learn to read.
this but unironically
to be fair, your mom IS a pleb
I think it's too long.
knuckle puck is amazing
I've copped only two things from 2017--Japanese Breakfast and the Chinchees. I like them but they're nothing special.
>rhcp, green day and sublime are all good bands
I loved RHCP as a kid, don't listen at all anymore and their later material sucks, but can't bring myself to hate them. Same thing for U2, except bono's so pretentious it's easy to hate post-Joshua Tree.
Never particularly got the appeal of Green Day. Derivative so-cal pop punk but saw them not-on-purpose at a festival and I admit they fucking ripped it live.
Sublime was pretty great but their fans are quite literally the worst people ever.
I still uniroincally enjoy listening to Coheed and Cambria
The only RHCP albums I'm really into are Californication and Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Their newer shit definitely isn't great but it's not terrible either.
Green Day's only truly great album is Dookie. Really captures teenage feels well, it reminds me a lot of Pinkerton but for some reason Pinkerton is way more critically acclaimed.
Also you're not wrong about Sublime, but I'd say that RHCP and Green Day also have terrible fanbases. That's basically the whole reason it's not cool to like them. Their listeners are mainly middle schoolers who are just beginning to discover "alternative" music.
I don't like radiohead. Most of their songs sound the same and the only real one I can remember is "No Surprises" from OK Computer.
And I absolutely despised Kid A
It's perplexing to me how this shit make's it in the top 10 albums of all time on RYM
Death Grips is unironically my favorite band of all time
>tfw i unironically enjoy noise now
>in2deep
>Their listeners are mainly middle schoolers who are just beginning to discover "alternative" music.
true dat, but Sublime fans also have a huge contingent of really non-descript, boring people who are in it for DUDE WEED LMAO and therefore seem worse. 40oz To Freedom is incredible anyway.
I'm with you all the way, user.
another confession: I started listening to jazz as a teen even though none of my friends did. Now I can find jazz people online really easily and even IRL but I can't relate to any of them since they're all into it due to being a musician/former marching-band geek and jazz is the ultimate srs bsns academic music wank refuge and I don't play an instrument. They all like free and fusion and I like mostly1930s through bop or post-bop. Or they like swing but they're straight-up nerds who like to LARP like it's 1943 similar to those insufferable steampunk dorks.
Maybe I am a non-musician jazz pleb but I just like to swing, jack.
And what is up with every former hardcore kid getting into Albert Ayler and shit? Jazz is not a contest to find the ultimate obscure, difficult-to-listen-to stuff under the guise that that makes you full of integrity or whatever.
...
runescape?
reddit-tier confession desu
Check out your fellows at r/listentothis
If I'm extra horny I'll sometimes beat it to furry porn even though I hate furries with a passion
Death Grips is a great band, it isn't necessary to even feel sorry for liking them. People hating them is the true meme
so you just swipe left for eternity?
i've been putting off listening to my bloody valentine for a long time because the name sounds like a 2000s emo nu metal band
ik they're shoegaze but still
My favorite albums keep changing. I have a general circle of music I like, and My no. 1 and a couple of other ones are always the same, but I think depending on my mood the others sound better/ worse at times.
Also I can't fucking stand most classic rock. I mean power to you if you like it, but I can't deal with it at all (Deep Purple is fine though).
the wiggles are patrician fuck off
No shame in that, it's a genuinely great album
Thought that was the Wiggles from the thumbnail
Try Sarcofago. They're what inspired the 2nd wave alongside Bathory and Celtic Frost
Me too user
The wiggles?
>the name sounds like a 2000s emo nu metal band
Bullet For My Valentine is a retarded emo nu metal name, it's true, and MBV does sound like it, granted.
If it's any consolation, it is a reference to a once well-known jazz standard and Shields says they were unaware there was a slasher film of the same name.
youtube.com
I knew ajj personally. Are you a Phoenix faggot?
I can't with the ambient albums, I don't know why
Noise can be surprisingly comfy. What album did you post? Reverse image search gave me nothing.
i value the ability to sing above any other character trait in a person.
I was re-listening to some bands I loved as a teen and I know truly believe that Muse is way more enjoyable and fun to listen to than Radiohead and Hullabaloo is better than anything Radiohead has done
Vinyl is a waste of effort
Hearing it for the first time.
