>historical convent built in the 1800s being bought in rosscommon by Muhammed Salam to be turned into a mosque
Here we go
There are muslims in Roscommon?
There's at least one town that's majority foreigner, might actually be majority Muslim.
Turned on the telly once a few weeks back and there was a """documentary""" about the vanguard "refugee resettlement" place in Ireland, and the woman they interviewed looked exactly as you'd expect, and had a straight-up English accent to boot.
I'm going to Cork in the end of August but according to all norwegian airlines there are no airports there. Where the hell do I fly if I wanna go to Cork? Fucking Dublin?
>I'm going to Cork in the end of August but according to all norwegian airlines there are no airports there
Bit odd considering Norwegian airlines only recently opened a transatlantic route from Cork Airport.
I made that comment a bit too prematurely, really. It seems that none of the CHEAP airlines go there... Oh well.
You can fly to Dublin and then get a bus to Cork. Pretty sure there's buses that go directly from the airport.
It's not exactly a big country, the bus should take a few hours.
Aye, I was looking into Dublin and it's half the price and all the flights are direct. It looks REALLY far on the map (Dublin - Cork) but if it is as you say just a few hours I'll go for it.

Good news for /eire/.
I'm not a child though. The average age here seems to be early 20's.
Check the journey time, it should be around 3 hours.
Also, why Cork?
Cuz I'm gonna geek out and sing in a choir

There's a Vermeer exhibition in the National Gallery starting in a few days though you have to pay to get in. I dunno if that interests you.
What have you seen already so I know what to suggest?
why doesnt Dublin just raise a flag on that giant pole in the middle in the city

Do you guys know how to speak Gaellic? I know that you have to learn a Gaellic song in school
>Gaellic
Cad
Would you please answer my question
We don't learn "Gaellic" we learn Irish or gaeilge.
Most know basic Irish but above that most people forget it since english is widely used. Some places in the country still speak it fluently everyday.
Thanks. What about you? How would you rate your Irish skills?
I wouldn't expect you to. It's a choir tradition from the southern US that has gained some popularity in Europe.
Anyone know of stuff to do in Cork or the surrounding area? Going to stay a few more days after the convention and have a look around the country and some pointers would be good.
>majority foreigner
That's Ballyhaunis in Mayo
They're putting the "Syrian" ""refugees"" in Roscommon after the very same company that got the contract bought 50 houses in the same area for €10,000 each.
As a proud Roscommon man, I look forward to visiting the mosques' grand opening and pissing on their magic carpets.
Shannon Airport is in Limerick but I don't know if there's a train to Cork. There is a train from Dublin to Cork which might be easier for you though it's a bit pricey.
>why doesnt Dublin just raise a flag on that giant pole in the middle in the city
Because it'd have to be a really big flag and the junkies would just steal it at night to use as a blanket.
Why are you being this autistic? You monolingual retard.
There used to be 3-4 Gaeilgeoirí (Irish speakers) who posted here but I'm quite sure they've all left. I only have rudimentary Irish myself.
What part of Germany are you from?
>Anyone know of stuff to do in Cork or the surrounding area?
Take a bag of yokes and wander around the place for 16 hours until you walk the entire way to Waterford.
There's probably tourist sites in Cork, although you might be best off going over to Kerry (the next county over) since they've a better tourism sector than Cork.
>Why are you being this autistic? You monolingual retard
What are you talking about faggot
A giant flag would give purpose to that thing
Just imagine, a fuckhuge irish flag at the very top of that
The leftists would complain about nationalism.
I am personally in favour of getting rid of it entirely so people from the countryside get lost and can't orientate themselves when they visit the city.
Only someone who can't speak Irish spergs out about people using the word Gaelic instead of Gaeilge.
>Only someone who can't speak Irish spergs out about people using the word Gaelic instead of Gaeilge
Maybe or maybe It just takes two seconds to look up what it's actually called so you wouldn't need to ask somebody on a flipino bird watching forum.
He never asked what it was called, he asked if anyone spoke it.
>Maybe
No, it's a certainty. You're insecure in your lack of competency so you lash out over someone who wouldn't know the difference between the terms.
Gaelic is also perfectly fine to use when referring to the language, the different "words" in the Goidelic languages (Gaeilge, Gaidhlig and Gaelg) are merely regional ways of pronouncing the same word (the closest Anglicisation of it being Gaelic).
lefties complaining about irish nationalism?
i feel like you're joking
There's two kinds of leftists here, the ones who like nationalism (but only if it's progressive nationalism) and the ones who hate it for being racist.
Is eire from Dublin?
strawpoll.me
Also do Irish girls dislike foreign accents?
i am at least 1/32 dubliner if you view pic related
>Social inclusion
>the government is giving me friends and a gf
>Also do Irish girls dislike foreign accents?
Yew thould athsk dem Julio.
That's still up? I loved it as a child, have they changed/added much?
The Irish for Dublin is Baile Átha Cliath. I don't know why considering Dubh Linn is also in Irish.
>Attempted murder of Prince Alfred
Top lad.
Although,
>born in Dublin
Think dubh means swamp or something
Maybe thats why they have a different name
What did he mean by this?
Awake. Kept having those re-occuring dreams that don't stop unless you force yourself to get up, which is painful.
Ran in to a shit load of Foreign foreign exchange students last in Corcagh Park at about midnight.
Do these mad cunts not know where they're at??????? They lost a member of their group and I felt obliged to find him considering how easy it'd be to drown in the lakes. He was at the lakes but luckily not in it... Fuckin baguettes all off their face too.
Still had crazy fun with them, even though they were little drunk kids, I think the oldest was 17.
Dubh means black and linn means pool.
>Corcagh Park.
Where's that?
>drown in the lakes.
Would you not be more concerned about getting assaulted/attacked?
>Fuckin baguettes
They were french?
>Still had crazy fun with them, even though they were little drunk kids, I think the oldest was 17.
Normies out.
>Belgium
Now you're just fucking with us.
I'm quite sure "Dubh linn" was just the Gaelicisation of the Norse word
It's a park in Clondalkin and no, not concerned at all about being assaulted. I'm fearless baby and ready for death so it doesn't bother me going walking in the darkness.
(inb4 edgy, im just happy to go now, ive done what i wanna do.)
Fuck normies, I'm far from normal it's just they were mad funny off their face barely able to speak English and just talking gibberish French to me. I was fairly fucked up myself.

What do the irish think of portugal?
Also ive seen many USA flags in Dublin but no UK flags, whys that?
Portugal is savage. Cheap as fuck if you're not in tourist areas, price of land is amazing good It's honestly just a better Spain. Not to mention the local wine is beautiful.
Americans like seeing their flag and it encourages them to stop at places flying it for a meal and a salute.
*nglish scum should know their place.
I mean historically and stuff
Many similarities with Ireland
Also a neighbor of an united kingdom (spain = castille + leon + aragon + navarre)
R A T
Portugal is historically England's ally while Spain is ours. I never thought of us as parallels before you put it like that though. I still think I'd prefer being controlled by Spain like the Netherlands and southern Italy rather than England.
In my experience, Portuguese people in Ireland are just pure arrogant and totally worth discarding. Other than that I've stated, I've no other opinion on it.
die cunt
Stupid bleeding Clondalkin rat.
tallaght scum
I just got scammed off 22€ lads
>sitting at supermacs waiting for my food
>girl (14 or so) sits beside me out of nowhere
>has a paper with bunch of names and money amounts
>asks me to donate money for some children bullshit
>hand her 2 euro
>says the minimun amount is 20 or something but shell give me change (keeps the 2€ in her hands tho)
>trust her and give 2 10€ bills thinking a girl that young cant possibly be untrustful thinking shell return with the change
Been 15 mins or so sincr
RAT
A
T
Tallaght's pretty scummy all right.
I'm sure that honorable Dublin citizen will return in due course.
Should've said you had no more money. Isn't €22 a day's work in Spain lmao?
Yes,i usually spend 22 in 3 days or more in spain
Fuck me
Charities don't have minimum amounts, they take whatever they can get.
Did she sound foreign? There were some Bosnian scumbags around town a few months back asking for money with some made up bullshit they had written on cards.
woo port láirge
How did you even manage that? Jesus. That shit is rampant in Spain too.
What part of Spain are you from? I used to have an apartment in Puerto Banus.
If i see that little runt am gonna grab her by the hair and hold her up until she hands me my money
Fooking hell man, never has anything like this happened to me
Puerto Banus?
My niece bought me a McDonald's in town earlier, lads. Got herself one too. Was pretty fucking surprised since she's only 13 and doesn't have a job. Her ma didn't give her any money before we left either. Won't turn down a free meal though
She sounded 100% irish to the point that ia asked her to speak slowly to understand her. Blonde, her left eye had some black makeup drawing around it. She didnt look poor at all
I wouldn't recommend assaulting her, girls like that are excellent at playing the victim and will make it look like you're trying to rob her.
It won't do much good but you could try reporting it to the Gardaí. People like that target tourists because they're going to leave soon and don't care that much about a small bit of money, but if you're going to be here for a few weeks there's a chance they might get her.
CAMGIRLS START EARLY BREH
I don't get it.
Imagine actually walking into a Garda station or ringing them up to report that a teenage girl you handed 20 quid over to of your own volition didn't come back with your 'change'. They'd probably just laugh in your face.
Lad should just take a life lesson out of it and remember to just do what everybody else does on the street being stopped and asked for money; say you've got nothing.
