So we all agree that 1977 was the best year in music history?

So we all agree that 1977 was the best year in music history?

i don't remember agreeing to this.

>what is 1989 or 1968?

'73 pham

2009 is my fav

Pic related came out then, couldn't have been too bad.

Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974. It's a scientific fact.

Not to mention Low, Heroes, Animals, Pink Flag, Don Cherry, Talking Heads 77, The Idiot, Lust for Life and I could go on.
Truly a legendary year.

73 and 68 are both really good but not better than 77

What is
1967
1973
1980
1991
2000
2007

none of those years were better than 77 except for 67

This

Besides 1967 and 1973 these are quite trash desu.

This is the year that normies bought a classical record.

1967 1971 1979 1994 1999 2011 2015

Replace a 7 with a 9 there and I wholeheartedly agree with you

Certainly one of them. I might argue for 1979 though.

Early 70's>Late 70's. Too much arena buttrock later in the 70's, luckily we had punk to combat it but still was a bad time for music.

Punk, Post-Punk, New Wave >>>>>> Progressive, Glam, Folk Rock

but

Queen, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith >>>>>>>> Journey, REO Speedwagon, Kansas

>1979
good, but not that great dude

Yeah it was. Mainstream stuff in the late 70s was appallingly bad compared to a few years earlier. I mean, 1971 had Sticky Fingers, Master of Reality, Who's Next, and Led Zeppelin IV. What was out in '77? Love Gun? Draw The Line? Foreigner S/T? Bat out of Hell? That's pretty fucking bad. Aside from Animals, almost anything of worth that year came out of the punk movement.

There was schmaltzy pop in the early 70s like the Carpenters and Bread, but the stuff out in the disco era was 10x more obnoxious and insufferable.

Yes.

>1977
>not 1968
>not 1975
>not 1980
>not 1993

way too much of my favorite music is from 2007
makes me kind of sad

Lotta great music came out in 77.
It was definitely a banner year for punk rock both in The U.S. and The U.K.

Pic most certainly related.
