Each time i listen to a videogame song, i remember it perfectly, but i can't say the same for films:
Why is videogame music so much more memorable than film music?

You can’t tell me that John Williams or Morricone scores are unmemorable.
If anything you probably remember the video game music because of the short 30-60 second loops
Because film and tv music actually helps create tension and builds on emotions, unlike cheap electronic video game music.
get out of here you fucking manchild
Film music works to set a mood appropriate for the scene. Video game music may also aid in setting a mood, but it's main focus is on keeping you engaged.
They are more "memorable" because you often hear the same songs over and over again while playing a game.

>Star Wars
>Ghostbusters
>Lord of The Rings
>the entire genre of musicals
Besides, the reason (for you) is that videogame songs usually have longer runtimes , giving them more time to gel in your head. Also you probably play more videogames than watch movies.
there are videogames with good music, but almost none where I'd actually want to listen to it outside of playing the game

there was like 3 memorable tracks from odyssey lmao
Because you watch shitty films.
>I lik vibeo gum
is it bad that this is one of my favourite songs from 2017

yes, you probably have a smallish brain
>what
Western composers for films and TV make generic orchestral suites to give atmosphere to the scene. They have absolutely no value outside of the scene they are used in. Meanwhile, the Japs make a lot more money off soundtrack sales, so they put in the effort to give their tracks memorable melodies.

yep
not that it necessarily makes it bad music
watch more movies please
Tim Follin's video game music was basically prog rock

There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part this is true. Maybe one out of a hundred movies have a soundtrack worth listening to independently.
