QOTD: What was the last movie you watched projected from film?

Nice fuck-up

Never watched one, btw

>never watched a projected film

2001 in 70mm

letterboxd.com/samtlx/

Whatever, of little relevance all things considered

>I rate art

All patricians rate art

letterboxd.com/Bandabydoo

I haven't seen any film projected on film

letterboxd.com/LeonDeon/

Mean Streets is the best film of the four and yet the one you rated lowest

taste is subjective

The 200 Blows

letterboxd.com/elihayes/film/manchester-by-the-sea/

What a brave human being!

>taste is subjective

Morning everyone. What's everyone doing this Sunday?

Day for Night in 35mm

You can make up for it when you go home and put your fedora on to rate

Good for you. Still an embryo

What did you think of Stuart Little?

I think Synt thought Stuart wasn't a big guy

Well duh he's not called Stuart Medium

thoughts on (500) Days of Summer (Webb, 2009)?

I don't like it

Haven't seen it since I was really young, but from what I recall that boat race scene was kino.

What matters is that he had a big heart.

I like it

>that boat race scene was kino.
I was thinking that too. I wanted a remote control boat and a bet hamster after that for the longest time when I was a kid. I remember it as a heartwarming movie that was ahead of its time but still somehow disappeared. Michael J. Fox had the perfect voice for the titular character.

i was going to go see Killer of Sheep on 35mm this weekend, but i missed my opportunity. what a bummer.

other than that, i don't recall, unfortunately. most likely The Tree of Life.

Kill yourself, steak(em)br(y)o

Man I had no idea that was Michael J. Fox. That's crazy - how was it ahead of its time? Not trying to diss it, I just can't remember. As for why it's fallen by the wayside... maybe because the premise was so ridiculous, parents didn't foster a sense of nostalgic classic in it? I'm just spitballing here though, I have no idea why it's fallen off the radar.

There was a sequel, right? With a little bird friend?

>nothing - nothing in the world is more tedious than a straight white man walking around thinking he's so oppressed - that he's so unrepresented - that his thoughts are so deep and original. this movie is the manifestation of that man. (and i actually liked To the Wonder)

Oh my god it's steakbro!

*blushes*

How are you today my good sir?

those are some cool favorites, but how come you've watched so few movies?

gender identity faggots are thr most insufferable fags in the internet

two main reasons. i have not been watching films """""seriously""""" for very long, and i occasionally go for a month or two watching only one a week - for example, this October i only saw five films. back to one or two a day now, though.

How old are you, old-timer? I doubt anyone today even knows what film is. Deprecated, obsolete format.

>actually watching boring white boy Malick

lmaoing rn

/ThePrez

Christ guys, and I thought I was bad at watching films

anyone wanna watch a movie

youtube.com/watch?v=rLADBpbx4BI

letterboxd.com/tsar/list/top-100-1/

>passtheheadphones
kek whatcucks will never learn

why the fuck do you like miami vice?

because it is the greatest film ever ever ever made easily

>awful digital cinematography
>awful acting
>convoluted plot
nice taste, stupid

Sup Quentin

plot is not remotely convoluted, here i will tell you it
pohlees go undercover to trap a big drug dealer, turns out they may could meet the biggest dealer if they go more deep undercover, main char falls in love with the big guy's woman, they catch the big guy and love difficulties ensue

Die hard

as we ask but time to drift
to drift and note the devious ways of man
to drift and scan the truths
that underlie the surface faiths whereby men live and die

I like the film quite a bit but I wish the nigger wasn't in it

>four stars to mumblecore
wtf I thought synt was patrician

Which flicks will be nominated for best picture

>i am a male i cant review this.
>i am white i cant review this.

at a guess:

La La Land
Manchester by the Sea
Moonlight
Arrival
Sully
Silence
Fences

after that i'm unsure, maybe Loving but i don't think its response was positive enough

CROCKET I AIN'T PLAYIN DIS IS REAL

if niggers are gonna be in movies they ought to be in real movies in real roles like miami vice, and flight, not 12 years a slave and fruitvale station. if they're to assimilate EVER they should be encouraged to revere the right kind of person. there is obviously a space for introspection a la the wire, but blacks, as all people do, only imitate and see in themselves what they see their people being in media. they used to attempt this in old films, especially musicals, don't know why they stopped. show boat is the best example of meeting blacks on their level and showing them the best aspects of their culture was welcome but that they have to behave alongside the dominant culture

ikr that film is a 5/5 i cri ertum

Reminder to believe PUNQ

holy shit tsar lmao

i always knew you were a fucking moron

brah i cry everytime it made me wanna fuckin live in canada, that perfect conservatism, those perfect people

Magnificent Seven in 70mm last year.

Just watched The Lobster finally. I thought it was interesting but I didn't love it. I feel like it's the type of movie I could watch a couple more times and continue to catch new things.
Next I need to work myself up to watching The Witch, though I'm not sure I can handle it alone..
